Well, it’s been a while since I last did this!
That’s right, I’m back again with round three of my $100 Full Face Challenge. I did this challenge back in 2019 and in 2020. And the general gist is to see if I could do a full glam look with less than $100 worth of makeup. Now, those first two times, I did make it under the $100. But this time, I set myself a new challenge. Can I go under $90? Well, let’s see if I did just that. Same rules apply as the last two times. Let’s go!
*Em’s Note* Some of the products featured were sent in PR. Said items will be noted with an asterisk
STEP 1 – SKIN PREP
I started, as I always do, with some necessary prep of the skin. I spritzed my face with the ESSENCE HELLO GOOD STUFF 3in1 FACE MIST – $6.00*. I quite enjoy this because not only does it smell delightful, it adds a slight tackiness to the skin. I also prepped my lips with the W7 SWEET DREAMS OVERNIGHT LIP MASK – $4.99*. This is a good, budget option for those who’s lips need that bit of help.
SKIN PREP TOTAL – $10.99
STEP 2 – BASE
Now we are getting into the fun bit! For foundation, I used the ESSENCE PRETTY NATURAL HYDRATING FOUNDATION – $10.00*. This foundation has such a lovely, natural finish and pretty good coverage when you use your hands. Shame the shade range here in Australia leaves much to be desired. To conceal my bags, I used the MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEAL & DEFINE CONCEALER – $10.00. This is a popular one online and I can see why! It gave excellent coverage. To set it all down, I used the OXX COSMETICS MATTIFYING & SETTING PRESSED FACE POWDER – $4.00. And this did an great job at setting down my base.
BASE TOTAL – $24.00
STEP 3 – CHEEKS
Before I went in with my powder, I used the OXX COSMETICS BRONZE WHIP CREAM BRONZER – $6.00 to give some definition back to my face. This bronzer recently went viral on Aussie Beauty TikTok. And while I did find it a little warm for my liking, it does blend out very nicely. It also paired well with my blush. Which was the OXX MAKE ME BLUSH BLUSHER in DUSKY – $4.00. This shade is a peach blush lovers dream. And the formula is very pigmented! A little goes a long way with this one. For highlight (because I have to have a highlighter), I whipped out the ESSENCE THE HIGHLIGHTER in MESMERISING – $6.00. It’s more of a subtle highlighter. But that’s what I’m going for more and more these days.
CHEEKS TOTAL – $16.00
STEP 4 – EYES
This section is the big one! For brows, I used the ESSENCE MAKE ME BROW in BRUNETTE – $5.00. Is it a repeat? Yes. But you tell me a better brow product for less. For eyeshadow, I used the ESSENCE BRONZED THIS WAY EYESHADOW PALETTE – $7.00*. And I’m pretty sure I used every shade in the palette for my look! I used the cream shade to set my concealer that I used as primer. The two brown mattes were used in the crease. The two bronze shimmers were on the lid. And the light gold shimmer was used in my inner corner and under the brow bone. To intensify the eye look, I used the DB COSMETICS EYE KOHL PENCIL in BROWN BLACK – $7.99. And for mascara, I used the W7 FLIRTY EYES FALSE LASH EFFECT MASCARA – $4.99. Stay tuned for my review on that one on Friday!
EYES TOTAL – $24.98
STEP 5 – LIPS
And, to wrap this up, we have two of my all time favourite lip products. Firstly, the ESSENCE SOFT & PRECISE LIP LINER in MY WAY – $3.49*. I have been gatekeeping these liners forever and I will always love using them. I then topped that off with the ESSENCE LONG LASTING LIPSTICK in UNFORGETTABLE – $5.50. These together? Such a stunning combo!
LIPS TOTAL – $8.99
FULL FACE TOTAL – $84.96!
HOLY MOLY, Y’ALL! I actually did it! A full face of glam for less than $90! I’m so excited. Lets have a peek at the completed look down below.
And that is a wrap on my $100 Full Face Challenge. As far as standouts go, I have to say the blush really impressed me. I can’t wait to duck down to Kmart to grab more shades! And the lip combo is a long time fave. Remember, the bougie stuff is always fun. But you definitely don’t need to spend a bomb to achieve an amazing look. As always, I tag all y’all to do this challenge too. I can’t wait to see the looks you all make.
Cheers and love
