If you have been following me for a while, you would already be familiar with my love of Maybelline mascara’s. They have, in my opinion, some of the best mascara’s at the drugstore. So I’m always excited to see a new one drop. And I was even more excited to see that their latest release, The Falsies Lash Lift, was getting released in Australia at the same time as the rest of the world (for those who aren’t familiar, drugstore releases usually arrive on our shores 6-9 months after the US).
I finally managed to get my hands on this a few weeks back (it has been a popular pick), and I have been putting it to the test behind the scenes. So, has the newest release from Maybelline lifted my lashes and heart? Just keep reading!
MAYBELLINE THE FALSIES LASH LIFT MASCARA – $24.95 – priceline.com.au
Packing wise, it’s a very simple sleek, mirrored tube style. On the one hand, it’s not the most exciting packaging, but I do appreciate that it’s a step up from the more traditional style of Maybelline mascara packaging.
The wand has natural bristles and has a slight hourglass shape. As I’ve mentioned before, these are the sort of brushes that I love because I find the very easy to get right down to the base of the lash and disperse the product evenly.
The formula is black and rich in pigment. It’s a little on the thick side, but because the brush is slightly larger, I find that it coats the brush more evenly and I don’t have issues with clumpiness.
When I first applied this mascara, I will have to admit that I was totally blown away! This mascara ticked all of the boxes for me. It added length and volume. It separated really well and it did give the appearance of lifting my lashes. One thing I really loved was that because the brush was able to reach the lash line, it gave the appearance of thicker lashes as well.
I have worn the mascara for well over 12 hours and well, the good news gets better! This wears so well! I have no smudging or flaking with this mascara. One thing I will note is that this mascara is not necessarily waterproof (the day I took the above photo, I got caught in a torrential rain storm). But it still looks fantastic at the end of the day. It’s also very easy to remove. I can use my Face Halo and it comes straight off.
So yeah, I only have one thing to say about the Maybelline The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara. Buy it! This has shot straight to the top of my favourite drugstore mascaras (yes, I love it more than Lash Paradise!). And I will definitely be buying this again. Heck, I might grab it now while it’s on sale (today is the last day of the Priceline makeup sale, Woolworths has their makeup sale until next Tuesday). So, why are you still reading this? Buy this mascara! And have a great weekend.
Cheers and love
