Emmie Reviews – Rimmel London Wonder’Luxe Volume Mascara

When I did my Spotlight On Rimmel Cosmetics a few weeks back, I had a few people ask me why I didn’t feature a mascara in my top picks. And the reason was at the time, I was yet to try a mascara from Rimmel that I truly loved. All of the ones I had tried either had issues with the wand or the actual formula. What can I say, I’m picky! And it had actually gotten to the point where I just stopped trying mascara’s from them altogether.

But makeup times, they are a changing and seeing as I’m making it a point to try all kinds of mascaras from all different brands, I figured it was time to see if Rimmel had stepped up it’s game at all. Which leads me to the newly released Wonder’Luxe Volume mascara, which is the newest member of their popular Wonderfull Mascara line. You should know by now that I always start with the packaging. And I won’t lie, this is the most gorgeous shade of rose gold pink with a shiny chrome finish. The shape of it is quite difficult to describe. It’s ovular, but it isn’t at the same time.

The wand itself is a crescent shape rubberised wand. Which is a real blast from the past for me. I used to be all about this style of wand back in the day. If I have one small gripe, it’s a little bit on the long side. But that could be because I’m so used to petite wands these days.

The formula contains four different oils. In this case, Argan, Maracuja, Marula and Camellia. All of these are great for conditioning your lashes as well as assisting with lash growth. Now normally I’m not a fan of that many oils in my mascara formula because they are bound to end up all over my eye area. But surprisingly, this formula dries quite quickly and it doesn’t budge throughout the day on me! I have worn this mascara on for over 10 hours and I have had barely any smudging. Thankfully it’s also easy to remove just by using my Face Halo.

When I first applied this to my lashes, I was genuinely surprised by the effect it gave. While it isn’t the most volumising mascara I’ve ever used, it easily makes up for it by being one of the most gorgeous mascara’s I’ve tried so far this year. I don’t have the longest natural lashes, but I’m always impressed when I wear this.

The effect it has on the lashes makes them so wispy and fluffy, and yet natural at the same time. I don’t look like I have falsies on, just beautiful, fluttery lashes. The spacing between the bristles on the brush also means that I get really good separation. And it builds up really well. I can easily get 2-3 layers of product on my lashes without them getting too clumped up with product.

Guys, this one is the real deal! I am so impressed with the Rimmel Wonder’Luxe Mascara. The effect it gives is unlike any other mascara I have tried and the fact that it doesn’t smudge or smear on me is just a bonus.
