Emmie Reviews – Dior Forever Skin Perfect Multi Use Foundation Stick

Posted on June 13, 2025June 12, 2025 by emmiesbeautylifeadmin

And I’m back from my trip!

Melbourne was lovely. Very cold and dreary, but lovely all the same. Shout out Freya and Laura for letting Dennis and I crash at your place. Now, before I get to my oh so delicious makeup haul, I do have one thing I have to get done first. Namely, my long awaited review of the Dior Forever Stick Foundation. It really does feel like I’ve been reviewing this one forever. But now I’m ready to share my thoughts. So, at long last, let’s get into it!

DIOR FOREVER SKIN PERFECT MULTI USE FOUNDATION STICK – $103.00 – dior.com
*18 Shades Available*

Starting with the packaging, the Skin Perfect Foundation Stick is housed in a sleek, very deep navy blue style tube. The tube is ovular in shape and has silver detail on top of the lid and on the tube itself. The tube has a good weight and has that luxe feel that you would expect from a high end/luxury brand like Dior. The Skin Perfect Foundation Stick contains 10g of product. Which is about standard for a stick foundation style product.

Like many of the stick foundations that I’ve reviewed in the past, the product is dispensed via a twist up mechanism positioned at the middle of the tube. From there, you can easily twist up and swipe the product across your face where needed. Fairly stock standard for a tube style foundation stick.

Now we have to address the elephant in the room. The Skin Perfect Foundation Stick only has 18 shades. And many of the shades run along the fair to light end of the spectrum. Also noteworthy is the number of shades that run neutral. A whopping 13 out of 18 apparently run on the neutral end of the undertone spectrum. This is incredibly disappointing. Especially with the knowledge that the Forever Foundation has 44 shades in it’s range. Do better, Dior.

As for me, I went with the shade 2N when I purchased this. 2N being my shade in the Dior Backstage Foundation. Now, having recently traveled to a place where I can actually swatch foundations, I have since discovered that 1.5N would be a far better choice for me, shade wise. I can make 2N work if I blend it down my neck. But I wouldn’t intentionally repurchase this shade again.

As far as application goes, I would do seven initial swipes across my face. Two on each cheek, and one on the forehead, nose, and chin. I would then blend it out with a sponge to get my preferred finish. I found that a brush got a little streaky and I always hate blending out stick foundations with my fingers. If I wanted to boost the coverage, I would go in with another swipe across each cheek and my chin. However, I would tread carefully as this foundation can land in cakey territory if I was too heavy handed.

One thing I will point out is that at the time of writing, it is winter, so you do want to warm this foundation out on the back of your hand before applying to the face. I am wearing this foundation today and found it a little tough to blend out because it was so cold in my house.

The Skin Perfect Foundation Stick is described as being a buildable foundation with a natural finish. And I would tend to agree. I could, if I wanted to, get this pretty close to full coverage. But I found that the line between full coverage and cakey was a fine one with this foundation. So, I would always stop at medium. Which I was happy to do. It still looked skin like and felt very comfortable. It covered my acne scarring and redness very well. One thing I did clock early on though was it quickly sinking into my one wrinkle near my eyebrow. But otherwise, pretty happy to start.

Let’s wrap this up with the wear test. Right off the bat, the only negative not that I’ll give it is that this doesn’t stay 100% true to colour. I did notice it deepening slightly throughout the day. But other than that, this does wear extremely well. It didn’t sink into anymore of my lines and wrinkles. It didn’t fade off of my chin or forehead. It worked well with the makeup I put on top of it. Ultimately, I was very impressed.

So, here’s the rub. Do I have problems with the Dior Forever Skin Perfect Foundation Stick? Yes. On the one hand, the price is hideous and the shade range is sorely lacking. On the other hand, it is extremely easy to apply and it wears incredibly well throughout the day. Where I’m landing is that I can’t necessarily give this a 100% recommendation. But If you do want to splash the cash to try it, I won’t say don’t. Because there is good here. And if Dior stumps up and bumps up the shade range one day, it would be a great thing for all. Have you tried the Dior Forever Skin Perfect Foundation Stick? Let me know in the comments below.

Cheers and love
