Emmie Reviews – Rimmel Kind & Free Lash Loader Mascara

Posted on June 20, 2025September 3, 2025 by emmiesbeautylifeadmin

Happy Friday, y’all. How good does the end of the working week feel? I’m here today to chat about the new(ish) mascara launch from Rimmel. The Kind & Free Lash Loader Mascara. Regular readers will know that I wasn’t the biggest fan of the other Kind & Free Mascara. And this one promise more volume and length. So, let’s see if this one is any better.

RIMMEL KIND & FREE LASH LOADER MASCARA – $24.95 – chemistwarehouse.com.au

Starting with the packaging, the Lash Loader Mascara is housed in a bright teal blue tube style packaging. The base of the tube is wider and narrows towards the tip. The handle of the mascara has grooves and a slant at the tip. There is silver chrome detail and a small logo featuring the Kind & Free slogan. Which is it’s sole tie in to that range. Packaging wise, it does stand out from both Rimmel’s other mascara’s and the Kind & Free range. The Lash Loader Mascara is vegan, cruelty free, and contains 9.5ml of product.

The wand for the Lash Loader Mascara is one I’ve seen before. It’s a large hourglass shape using fluffy synthetic fiber bristles. And here in lies the initial problem. I hate this brush. And I say that as someone who usually loves an hourglass style brush. The fluffiness of the bristles means that a lot of product collects on the brush. And there was more than one occasions where despite me swiping off the excess, my lashes got a little clumpy as I was applying product. Finally, and I know that this is petty, but I don’t like that the brush domes at the tip. I tend to prefer a flat tip with my synthetic bristled hourglass brushes because I can use the flat side to reach my inner lashes.

The formula of the Lash Loader Mascara is pretty decent. Not too creamy, not too waxy. There are quite a few seeds oils like Argan, Castor, and Jojoba in the formula. Which not only helps condition the lashes, but gives the finish a lovely sheen. There is also Aloe Vera. Which they say provides structure and strength to the lash. If I have one minor nitpick (and I always do), I would say that this formula isn’t quite as pitch black as some of Rimmel’s other mascaras. And I can tell on the lashes that that’s the case.

First impressions of the Lash Loader Mascara weren’t the most positive. I felt like I had to use quite a few coats to see any real length or volume from this mascara (the above picture is three dips into the tube). It also didn’t do much for me as far as lift or separation goes. You can see that some of my lashes are clumping together. On the positive side, it is a lightweight formula and it doesn’t feel super crunchy or dry on the lashes.

But that now brings us to the wear test. And well, the results speak for themselves. Definite droop, definite transfer under the eye. And this is on a good day. When I was wearing it during the 30°+ days we were having in May, the transfer was much worse. I also wanted to highlight the droop specifically. This is the first mascara I’ve used in ages that made my lashes almost dead straight. I was very disappointed.

All that said, the Rimmel Lash Loader Mascara is sadly another fail and I cannot recommend it. Maybe this range of mascaras just isn’t for me. If Rimmel does launch another Kind & Free mascara, I will try it. But it’ll be a three strikes situation for sure. Have you tried the Rimmel Lash Loader Mascara? Let me know in the comments below.

Cheers and love
