MAC Cosmetics, a brand that is pretty much synonymous with makeup artistry. For over 40 years, MAC has been at the forefront of the makeup world. Boasting easily one of the widest and most diverse makeup ranges in the beauty space. Naturally, any attempt at a One Brand Recommendations for MAC is fraught with danger. As there is just so much to choose from. But these 10 products are my absolute must try’s. Especially anyone coming to MAC as a newbie. Let’s get into it!
MAC COSMETICS STUDIO RADIANCE SERUM POWERED FOUNDATION – $76.00
We’ll start with literally my last review. I haven’t been able to put this foundation down since I got it. The finish is stunning, the wear is fantastic. If you love a little luminosity to your foundation, this is a must try!
MAC COSMETICS STUDIO RADIANCE 24hr LUMINOUS LIFT CONCEALER – $55.00
Up until this one, I was sadly not a huge fan of MAC Concealers. Especially now that I’m in my mid 30’s. I always found that they sat heavy under the eyes in particular. The Studio Radiance, however, wears like a dream! Amazing coverage without looking dry or heavy. Best of all, it wears all day long. It’s right up there with the Tower 28 Swipe Concealer.
MAC COSMETICS FIX + STAY OVER SETTING SPRAY – $37.00 for 30ml
A legit long wear setting spray was always a gap that MAC had in their line. I know that they had the Iconic Fix +, but it doesn’t really do anything for the longevity for your makeup. Thankfully, they came out with the Fix + Stay Over and that gap is now sufficiently filled. Speaking for myself, I do feel like this setting spray is a little underrated. It boasts a 16hr longevity to your makeup wear time. And there are ingredients in the formula that help protect the skin from environmental stressors.
MAC COSMETICS EYESHADOW – $35.00 – Shades Seatured: Soft Brown (Matte), Sable (Frost)
How could I not shout out the MAC Eyeshadows? Are they expensive? Yes. Do they have every colour in the rainbow? Also yes. I know that there are better single eyeshadows on the market. But these will always have a special place in my heart.
MAC COSMETICS EXTRA DIMENSION EYESHADOW – $42.00 – Shades Featured: Sweet Heat, Smokey Mauve
The eyeshadows of the moment. I know that these are everywhere because of Elizabeth Cee over on TikTok. But they are worth both the hype and the money. Not only are the shades in this range absolutely beautiful. But they are one of the few shimmer shadow formulas that don’t crease to death on me.
MAC COSMETICS SKINFINISH SUNSTRUCK MATTE BRONZER – $71.00
While a part of me will always be a little salty that MAC discontinued their Refined Golden Bronzer (it gave such a beautiful warmth to the skin), the SkinFinish Bronzers are more than a good enough sub for me. I do like that there is a matte and a radiant range for these bronzers. Also, they nailed the tones. I love that this shade in particular reads warm, but isn’t not too warm on me, And I have to admit they they improved the wear on these bronzers.
MAC COSMETICS GLOW PLAY CUSHIONY BLUSH – $56.00 – Shade Featured: Blush Please
Asking me to pick my favourite MAC blush is like asking me to pick my favourite child. It’s always the youngest one*. The Glow Play Blushes are MAC’s crowning achievement in my eyes. They have the bounce and consistency of a cream, but the finish and wear of a powder. They last so long on the skin. Out of everything that I’ll be talking about today, this is the one product that I insist everyone try.
*I am the second kid. So, the ignored one >.<
MAC COSMETICS MINERALISE SKINFINISH – $73.00 – Shade Featured: Soft & Gentle
Another absolute classic product. Every makeup girly who came up through YouTube owned Soft & Gentle as a highlighter. And even though I don’t really wear highlighter as much as I used to, there will always be a place in my collection for this glow bomb. You can wear a little bit and have the most ethereal glow. Or you can go ham and be seen from space. My special tip was wearing this on the collarbone and shoulders when you’re wearing a low cut top. It melts into the skin.
MAC COSMETICS LIP PENCIL – $40.00
Consider this my formal retraction from my original Save, Spend, Splurge, Skip post from a few years back. MAC Liners are it! I can’t believe I ever thought these were bad. They must have reformulated for the better over the last 8 years. These liners glide onto the lips. And once they’re on, they’re staying on.
MAC COSMETICS LUSTREGLASS LIPSTICK – $40.00
You might be surprised to not see Velvet Teddy in the final spot. You see, as much as Velvet Teddy is my favourite lipstick from MAC, my favourite formula is actually the Lustreglass Lipsticks. As someone who prefers their lipsticks to have a ton of shine and a hint of pigment these days, the Lustreglass formula is exactly that. There is a fantastic array of shades and they all look stunning. My go to shades are Hug Me and the viral Thanks, It’s MAC.
