It’s been almost two years since I did a Budget Beauty post. And in that time makeup has gotten a lot more expensive. There are now even drugstore launches that are hitting the $40 mark here in Australia! So, finding and shouting out good quality drugstore makeup is more important than ever. And I have five amazing beauty goodies that I want to talk about. Not are these products out of the world great, every single one of them is less than $20. Let’s get into it!
ELF COSMETICS LASH ‘N ROLL MASCARA – $18.00
Yeah, I can keep this bit short. The best affordable mascara on the market, argue with the wall. If you want long, fluffy, fluttery lashes that don’t flake, smudge, or transfer, you really can’t go past this one.
AUSTRALIS FRESH & FLAWLESS POWDER BLUSH – $13.95
Another day, another banger from Australis Cosmetics. They launched the newest expansion to their Fresh & Flawless line earlier this year. And while I love everything I’ve tried so far, the powder blushes are truly something special. The shade Boujee has quickly become my go to blush shade. That kind of warm tone rosy shade that suits any makeup look. The formula just melts into the skin, with a slight natural looking sheen that looks stunning on the skin. I cannot recommend these enough.
THE KIND COLLECTIVE 9 PAN EYESHADOW PALETTE – $19.00
A good quality eyeshadow palette for less than $20? You’re lying! Nope, the Prism Vision Palette from The Kind Collective is the real deal. The mattes are so buttery and easy to blend. And the shimmers have to be felt to be believed. If you don’t like this colour story (and how could you not?), there are a few different palettes in this range. All of them are beautiful!
BARRY M THAT’S SWELL PEPTIDE PLUMPING LP OIL – $16.95
Now, I know what you’re about to say. ‘Emily, don’t you hate plumping lip products?’ And you would be correct. But these are something else. The That’s Swell Lip Oils use Ginger Root and Sichuan Peppers as the main plumping agent. But it has a touch of cool with the Menthol. And what I’m left with is an ultra shiny, plump lip look that is so comfortable to wear. The tingle sensation doesn’t last too long on me either, which is fantastic. If you’re like me and tend to be a chicken when it comes to plumping lip products, these are well worth trying out.
GEM WATERMELON FRESH HAIR & BODY MIST – $12.00
Gem has been taking over the body care world as of late. Already popular online for their dental care range, earlier in the year, they launched deodorants (which are also amazing). And now they have body mists based on some of their delicious deodorant scents. Y’all, you need to get on these. Because they are so good! The Watermelon Fresh scent smells exactly like a fresh cut watermelon. There are also more vanilla based scents (Vanilla & Macadamia is particularly gorgeous). But the all important question is how do they wear? Pretty well for a body spray. Especially if I spray this in my hair (which they do recommend), I can still smell this 4-6 hours later. My favourite thing about them though is that the packaging is so sleek. It can easily go into a handbag for a day trip. Definitely worth grabbing the next time you’re at Coles.
