Happy Friday everyone! Today, we are chatting about the Made By Mitchell Truth Tint Skin Tint. And this review is coming out at the perfect time because Made By Mitchell is making it’s Australian instore debut right now. I was lucky enough to grab the Truth Tint a little while ago and I’ve spent the last few weeks testing it out. So, can you handle the truth about the Truth Tint? Let’s find out.

MADE BY MITCHELL TRUTH TINT SHEER SKIN TINT – $38.00 – glamraider.com.au
*20 shades available*

Starting with the packaging, the Truth Tint is housed in a small, soft, lightweight plastic style bottle. Similiar in style to the Dior Face & Body or the Ultra Violette Daydream Screen. The bottle is clear with white detail. The cap on top of the bottle is the chartreuse green that Made By Mitchell is famous for. It’s simple packaging, but it ties into the rest of the line. And the soft plastic bottle makes it ideal for travel. The Truth Tint is vegan, cruelty free, and contains 50ml of product.

Like many foundations that come in this style of packaging, the Truth Tint is dispensed via a spout style dropper that dispenses when pressure is applied to the bottle. And yes, I have the same issue with this bottle as well. This gets grotty very quickly. Fortunately, the lid is extremely secure and I’m yet to have any leaking from it.
The Truth Tint has 20 shades in the range. The shades are divided up into shade ranges (Light, Light Medium, Medium, Medium Deep, Deep, Deep Dark). But what’s notable about this range is that there are more undertones available. You have the standard cool, neutral, and warm, but there is also olive undertones for two of the shades and a red undertone for one of the deep shades. Made By Mitchell has always held inclusivity to the forefront of his brand. And when I tell you this is one of the best shade ranges for a skin tint I’ve ever seen, I truly mean it.

As for me, I wear share TT3. Described as being Light with Neutral Undertones. And it’s basically a perfect match for me. I have no complaints about the undertone on me. I did well in picking this shade.
The texture of the Truth Tint is very slippy, walking right up to the line of being oily. This is a very dimenthicone heavy formula. And that alone might be the determining factor as to whether this formula is for you. For me, personally, the texture is reminescent of the Westman Atelier Complexion Drops I reviewed a few years back. They are similiar in that they both have that slippy, serumy feel and you absolutely need to shake them before use because the pigment does settle and separate in the fluid. The biggest difference for me though is that the Truth Tint has a little more body to the formula and is slightly more pigmented as a result.
As far as application goes, my perferred method is to take a few drops onto my fingers, apply that all over the face, and then go in with a damp sponge to press the product into the skin and blend out the edges. A little convuluted, but it works well for me. I did try this with a brush and shockingly, it worked really nicely. So there is no bad way to apply the Truth Tint. You just gotta do what feels right.

The Truth Tint is described as being a light coverage with a blurred, luminous finish. I’m not sure about blurred, but I absolutely agree with luminous. This skin tint is one of the glowier ones I’ve come across. And for me, I did want to set it with a powder just to tamp down on some of that glow. Otherwise, it does do a good job at evening out my skin tone and covering up some of my dark spots. I do have a blemish on my cheek that it covered quite nicely as well. Overall, for a skin tint, I was pretty happy with the results.

Which brings us to the wear test. And for a product that is not at all touted as being long wear, this wore incredbly well throughout the day. First of all, I do need to walk back the ‘not blurring’ allegations, my skin looks phenomenal in the after picture. This is one of those formulas that actively looks better the longer I have it on. I didn’t experience any fading or sinking into lines. I even had a particularly greasy lunch the day I took these pictures. And it held up without breaking down.
All in all, the Made By Mitchell Truth Tint Skin Tint gets a thumbs up and a strong recommendation from me. If you’re oily, you might want to give this a skip. But if you’re dry/combo and enjoy a more slippy, serumy texture with your skin tints, this one will definitely be worth trying. Have you tried the Made By Mitchell Truth Tint Sheer Skin Tint? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love
