When it comes to Australian owned beauty brands, we are truly spoiled for choice. Brands such as Mecca Max, Australis, Go To Skincare, and Dermal Therapy have products in their range that absolutely go toe to toe with the big international brands. But there are also so many great Australian brands that I feel like don’t get the same level of attention. So, today, I wanted to shine the spotlight on three fantastic Australian owned brands that are nailing the beauty game.

GUNK OFF SKINCARE
If you’ve been following my page for any period of time, you would know that I’ve been championing Gunk Off for literal years! I’ve been a fan of their range ever since their initial pot melting balm launched back in 2020. It’s still my favourite cleansing balm and I refuse to not have it somewhere in my skincare collection. They would go onto launch their gel cleanser and melting balm in a shower friendly tube in 2023. They have never steered me wrong. Amy and the team have been absolutely smashing it. I cannot say enough good things except that you need to try this range immediately!

GLAMINATRIX COSMETICS
Glaminatrix is a brand that I have admired from a far for a very long time. Based out of Gladstone (an hour away from my old stomping ground), they quickly made a name for themselves with eyeshadows that were the talk of the indie makeup world. Their quality alone put them at the same level as some of the best in the makeup world. And now that I own one of their palettes (the above palette is the Grounded palette A.K.A Tones OF Turd). I can see why these are so beloved in the indie makeup space. The mattes are so buttery and easy to blend. And the metallics need to be swatched to be believed. They go on so smoothly and they make a real impact. The pans are also a great size. You’re getting heaps of products for the price. This is a brand that should be absolutely everywhere!

SETSUNA PERFUME
I can thank the gorgeous Praise for putting Setsuna on my radar. Based out of Sydney, Setsuna is a small fragrance house that specialises in perfumes that not only tell a story, but make a real impact. Their first fragrance, Dancing In The Moonlight, launched last year, with notes of Vanilla, Caramel, Cake, Marshmallow, Ice Cream, White Chocolate, and Musk. On me, it smells like the warmest, creamiest, stickiest, spiciest sticky date pudding I’ve ever smelled. It’s the perfect winter gourmand scent because of how cozy and comforting it is. And I have been wearing it a ton over the last few weeks. Having said that, I suspect that this bottle will last me for a while. That’s the other thing with DITM, this is a BEAST mode fragrance. A little bit goes an incredibly long way and I can still smell this on me 10-12 hours after that initial spray. They just launched their second fragrance, In Love Someday, last week at the time of writing. With the main note being Marshmallow, best believe that it will be in my cart sooner rather than later.
And that’s a wrap! I sincerely hope that you check all of these brands out. And in the comments, let me know what small Aussie brand you think deserves more attention.
Cheers and love
