Well, August was the longest month ever, wasn’t it? I truly felt the days drag on there for a minute. That’s the justification I’m using for having oh so many empties this time around. That’s right, it’s another bumper empties stash to talk about. So, let’s get into it!

Second tub down and I already have my third. This has become an essential part of my morning routine. And it has made a huge difference in my, well, movements.
LA ROCHE POSAY EFFACLAR DUP + M PATCHES – $21.95
Another month, another new pimple patch to try out. They are similar to the Garnier ones in that they are super thin around the edges and thicker in the center. However, I found that they don’t adhere to the skin as well as some of the other patches I’ve tried. Plus the small ones are a little too small. I wouldn’t get these again.
FRESH TEA ELIXIR SKIN RESILIENCE ACTIVATING SERUM – $175.00*
FINALLY, I’M FREE! This took me so long to get through. Don’t get me wrong, loved the serum. Especially on retinol nights. But I would get the 30ml if I were to get this again.
DERMAVEEN INVISIBLE FLUID SPF 50+ – $32.99
*TGA DECLARATION – Purchased Myself* I found this for $5 at my Woolies clearance section. And I loved it so much, I would buy it at full price. Gorgeous lightweight finish and sits under makeup super well.
LA ROCHE POSAY MELA B3 NIACINAMIDE SERUM – $79.95
Ahh, my first experience with Melasyl, the revolutionary new ingredient that is proven to help with dark spots. Right off the bat, this stuff works. But you have to be consistent with it. And I fear I wasn’t as consistent as I could be with it (I have a lot of skincare). I would get this again. But Melasyl is popping up in quite a few new serum launches. So, I’m curious to see some of the more affordable alternatives. (Also, La Roche Posay should launch that Melasyl Sunscreen that I’ve seen around)
SUMMER FRIDAYS LIP BUTTER BALM – $42.00
Summer Fridays makes my favourite lip balm formula, period! It always leaves my lips super soft and plush. And they all smell delicious. I have the Iced Coffee one here and it’s a banger. I do want to repurchase eventually.
THE BREAKOUT HACK REBOUND SERUM – $49.95
Bottle number 6. You already know I have another one in my cupboard, ready to go!
RARE BEAUTY BROW HARMONY FLEXIBLE LIFTING GEL – $34.00
One of the best clear brow gels I’ve ever tried. It dries clear, doesn’t leave my brows crunchy, and leaves them in place all day! I will repurchase.
LANEIGE BOUNCY & FIRM SLEEPING MASK – $55.00
One of the better sleeping masks I’ve come across. Very nourishing for the skin. Another popular one on retinol nights. I just love Laneige!
CLEAR SKINCARE MOISTURE + CREAM – $50.00*
Very solid, no nonsense moisturiser that I used in the morning. Soaked into the skin really quickly. My sole complaint is that I flew through this in record time.
SSEEN SILK SKIN POWER PEPTIDE SERUM – $89.00*
The workhorse of my morning routine, this serum gave so much life back to my skin. It was so hydrating and soothing for my skin. I definitely noticed a difference with my skin’s texture the long I used it. I will definitely repurchase when I’m low on serums.
MADE BY MITCHELL LASH LAQUER MASCARA – price unknown
I had a full review of this lined up. But I can’t seen to get a concrete answer as to whether this has been discontinued or not. It’s not available at Glam Raider or Atomica. The Made By Mitchell website has had this discounted for months without restock. And it’s not available at any of Made By Mitchell’s international stockists. So, I’m counting it as discontinued. Which is ok, because this wasn’t very good to begin with.
ROSE INC LASH LIFT SERUM MASCARA – $46.00
My first mascara review of 2025. I remember this being pretty mid. Expensive for what it is. I wouldn’t repurchase.
MILANI HIGHLY RATED LASH EXTENSIONS MASCARA – $26.99
Now, this one I do remember. Because it was awful! Wet formula that takes ages to dry down. Poor effect on the lashes. And worst of all, this is flakier than your ex-boyfriend. Avoid!
