Well folks, we are back here again. We are chatting about the fabulous and wonderful beauty products that have been cruelly snatched away from us. And this time, we have an entire brand that we are saying goodbye to. So, let’s see what the beauty gods saw fit to take away from us all.

FLOWER BEAUTY
Earlier this month, it was officially announced that Drew Barrymore’s makeup range, Flower Beauty, was going to be closing after 12 years of operations. If I’m being brutally honest with myself, I am sad, but I’m not shocked. Flower Beauty was one of the earliest celebrity owned drugstore makeup brands to go somewhat viral back in the early days of the beauty community. Their big selling point was that they were 100% cruelty free and mostly vegan. Which at the time was a rare combo in the drugstore. Their popularity had waned in recent years as more cruelty free & vegan brands popped up at the drugstore level. But Flower will always have a special place in my heart. If there is one product that I’m truly sad to see go, it would be their Flower Pot Powder Blushes. Such a gorgeous, soft formula that had great staying power. But their lipsticks and concealer were also highly rated at Emmie’s Beauty Life HQ.

PATRICK TA MONOCHROME MOMENT VELVET BLUSH
Staying with blush, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that many of you didn’t know that Patrick Ta had single pan powder blushes. Which means just as many of you didn’t know that these had been quietly pulled off the market a little while ago. Heck, I didn’t even realise until I was doing research for this post (I was originally going to have the Dior Blush in Mahogany here). If I remember correctly, these blushes came out before the Major Headlines Blush Duo’s. But those were the ones that took off online. And it’s a shame that the Monochrome Moment Blushes weren’t nearly as popular. Because they are just as good. Not to mention they cost a lot less. I would love to see these make a comeback in the future.

FENTY BEAUTY PRO FILT’R SOFT MATTE POWDER FOUNDATION
Now this one. I know precisely why it got the axe. *Shakes fist at EU*. Yep, we have another fantastic, full coverage powder that is falling victim to the EU’s upcoming Talc ban. I never wore this as a powder foundation in it’s own right. But I adored it dusted on top of my tinted moisuriser and skin tints to boost said coverage when needed. It was a go to powder during the summer months. It’s oil and sweat control was unmatched in my eyes. I do see this getting reformulated without the talc. And if the reception to the recently reformulated loose setting powder is anything to go by, I just know it’s going to suck.

LOUNGEFACE CLEAR BROW GEL
Miss Curtis? May I call you Lauren? I really need you to explain to me why your brow gels are going away forever. Because that’s what it says on your Instagram when you were announcing that your entire brow range is 50% off until sold out. Your Brow Builder was a best in beauty winner last year. The Clear Brow Gel is almost certainly going into this years awards list. It’s a phenomenal formula. Set’s like a dream without leaving your brows crunchy or ghostly on the tips. Why is it going away?

SOL DE JANEIRO AGUA MISTICA
I know, I know. This is technically limited edition. But hear me out when I say this. I desperately need Sol De Janeiro to add this to the permanent line immediately. Agua Mistica is basically my childhood perfectly encapsulated in a fragrance. Me, 10 years old. Sitting on the sand at a beach in Yeppoon. Salty sea air blowing through my short brunette hair. The smell of the nearby Jasmine vine in someone’s yard lightly wafting in the breeze. Sipping on a Golden Circle Pine Orange popper. It almost brought a tear to my eye the first time I smelled it. And in all honesty, it would fit in really easily in the Cheirosa line as there isn’t a more citrus forward fragrance in the line up. This fragrance is truly special to me and I would hate to never be able to get it again.
And that’s a wrap before I get too emotional. Let me know what discontinued faves you have in the comments.
Cheers and love

I will cherish the flower beauty brushes for as long as I can
