Happy Tuesday, y’all! I hope you’re in the mood for a review. Because today, we are going to be chatting about the viral Half Magic Eyelectric Extreme Lengthening Mascara. This mascara has truly been all over my TikTok feed. And the length I’ve seen some of you all get from it made me so intrigued, I knew I had to get my hands on it ASAP! I’ve spent the last few weeks using it and I’m ready to share my thoughts. So, let’s get into this review!

HALF MAGIC EYELECTRIC EXTREME LENGTHENING MASCARA – $45.00 – mecca.com.au

We shall begin with the packaging. The Eyelectric Mascara is housed in a clear recycled plastic tube with silver chrome detail. The cap at the top is white and is also made of recycled plastic. In all of the years that I’ve been testing and trialing mascara, I’ve never seen a clear tube for mascara before. Otherwise, it is very simple, bare bones packaging. I do wish the cap was the same colour as the rest of the Half Magic range (the vivid neon chartreuse). But I understand why. The Eyelectric Mascara is vegen, cruelty free, and contains 8.15ml of product.

The wand for the Eyelectric Mascara is pretty standard fare for a tubing mascara. Molded brush head that is conical in shape, with short, evenly spaced bristles that will cling to the lashes easily. I did notice that the tip isn’t super fine and there are no added bristles to the tip either. Nevertheless, it’s a good enough size to reach those pesky inner corner lashes without dinging myself in the eye.

The formula itself is pretty interesting. The pigment is very, very black. Which we love to see. It has almost like a vinyl finish. It’s definitely not a matte black and it adds real dimension to the lashes. It has a very quick drydown. You do have to work fast to build it up. However, this will go down as being one of the easier tubing mascara’s to remove at the end of the day. Like, this formula just slips straight off. As far as noteworthy ingredients go, I do spy Castor Oil, a solid lash conditioner. But that’s pretty much it.

When a mascara promises extreme length, extreme length is what I want to see. So, it delights me to no end that I was immediately blown away at how long and fluttery my lashes were when I first applied the Eyelectric Mascara. It reminded me a lot of my beloved Whip Lash Mascara from Mecca Max. That same super dramatic wispiness. Where the Eyelectric really shines though is the lift and separation. The formula is super lightweight and easy to maneuver. Coating each lash with product without them wanting to clump together. I did get some volume from this, but not a great deal. Like it says on the tube, this is primarily a lengthening mascara. And I think more volume than this would have been a bad idea.

But now it’s time for the all important wear test. And it was a great day to put this mascara through it’s paces (60% humidity. Kill me now!). But I have to say, I was very impressed at how well this mascara held up. I had no noticeable flaking or transfer. I thought maybe with this being a quicker drying formula that I would experience some flakes. But if I had any, I probably sweated them away. On the negative side, I did experience some drooping. It’s very noticeable on my right side. But having reviewed as many tubing mascaras that I’ve tried, there are very few that don’t droop. So I’m not holding a little droop against this one.
All that to say, it is an emphatic yes! I do recommend the Half Magic Eyelectric Extreme Lengthening Mascara. If you’re a fan of maximum volume, this is a must try. And even if you aren’t, I still think you’ll like it! Now, I guess I have to try the other shades! Have you tried the Half Magic Eyelectric Extreme Lengthening Mascara? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love
