Emmie Reviews – Sephora Collection Best Skin Ever Foundation

Posted on February 20, 2026February 23, 2026 by emmiesbeautylifeadmin

It’s Foundation Friday, everyone! Or, at the very least, today we are going to be reviewing a foundation. Specifically, the Sephora Collection Best Skin Ever Foundation. I mean, with a name like that, it’s basically begging me to test it out. And that I have. I’ve spent the last few weeks putting it through it’s paces. And oh boy, do I have OPINIONS! So, let’s get into the review!

SEPHORA COLLECTION BEST SKIN EVER LONGWEAR FOUNDATION – $36.00
*40 Shades Available*

Starting with the packaging, the Best Skin Ever Foundation is housed in a stout, frosted glass bottle. There is a matte black plastic cap on top and there is black detail on the bottle. There is some weight to the glass. But not as much as you would think. Otherwise, its pretty standard for Sephora Collection. The Best Skin Ever Foundation is vegan, cruelty free, and contains 25ml of product.

The Best Skin Ever Foundation is dispensed via a pump at the top of the bottle. The pump is well made, definitely on the firm side. You are allowed a good amount of control over how much product is dispensed. However, it is a pump that does need to be kept clean as the formula can clog it easily.

There are 40 shades in the Best Skin Ever Foundation line. Which is a slight downgrade from the 45 shades in the original Best Skin Ever collection (yeah, wasn’t sure how to bring it up, but I’m reviewing the reformulated version that came out last year). From looking at the shades, I do like the variety on undertones on display. The new version has olive and peach undertones in the mix where the original version didn’t. Having said that, I have heard from other creators (particularly those with very light and very deep skin tones) that the reformulated version no longer has their perfect shade in the range anymore. Which is disappointing to see.

For me, I ended up with shade 05N. Described as being fair with neutral undertones. And let’s just address the elephant in the room. This shade is way, way too light for me. I feel like maybe 10N or even 13N would have been a more suitable match for me. The one blessing that I have is that I can pull it off if I blend it down my neck. But yeah, definitely had to add a little extra bronzer while I was wearing this.

But if you thought the shade match wasn’t great, it’s about to get a whole lot worse. The Best Skin Ever Foundation will probably go down as one of the most difficult foundations I have ever worked with. The texture of this foundation is so odd. It has body and you can dot it on the face easily enough, but it has a lot of slip as well. Blending this out was something of a nightmare. Mostly because it didn’t want to blend without a fight. The way I finally got it to behave was by dotting it all over my face, spreading it with my fingers, and then using a beauty sponge to blend. The end result still wasn’t great. It looked like it was sitting on my face like as mask. But it was wearable.

The Best Skin Ever Foundation is described as being a medium buildable coverage with a natural satin finish. As far as coverage goes, medium is a bit of a stretch. It’s not light coverage, but I still see everything underneath it. In particular, the redness on my chin and my imperfections are still very visible. My biggest issue with this foundation though is something I already said, this is the first foundation that I’ve used in a while where it is VERY obvious that I’m wearing foundation. It just doesn’t look or feel right on me.

Which brings us to the wear test. And I do have to confess that this review probably should have come out a week ago. You see, I had such a miserable time wearing this foundation that I was lucky to make it 4-5 hours into wearing it before I had to take it off. And I did have to force myself to keep it on for the full nine hours so I could do this wear test. Now, having finally made it to the full nine hours, I will concede that it wears better than I expected it to. But not by much. While it hasn’t sunk into my pores or fine lines, it did fade and wear away throughout the day. Most noticeably on my chin and forehead. If I had to go out after this, I would have to completely redo my makeup. On the bright side, it hasn’t broken me out. So it gets points for that!

All in all, this is a heck to the no! I do not recommend the Sephora Collection Best Skin Ever Foundation. The price may be right, but the wear certainly is not. And the only reason why I’ll be holding onto it is so I can remember it come next January. Have you tried the Sephora Collection Best Skin Ever Foundation? Let me know in the comments.

Cheers and love
