Spotlight On – What’s In My Shower: Part 6

Posted on March 13, 2026March 18, 2026 by emmiesbeautylifeadmin

Wow. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I last wrote about what I have in my shower routine. And I’ve had a few requests to bring this series back. Luckily for you all, I do have a few newbies that have snuck their way into my routine recently that I’m super excited to chat about. So, let’s chat about them!

BIODERMA SENSIBIO MICELLAR OIL CLEANSER – $34.99
My love of Bioderma is very well known on here. I’ve been through more bottles of the micellar water than I can count over the last eight years. But I haven’t tried much else from the Sensibio line. So, when I saw a few of my fellow beauty lovers rave about the Oil Cleanser in the line, I popped it into my cart. Now, full disclosure, I’m not usually an oil cleanser user. I do tend to prefer a balm for my first cleanse. Mostly because I don’t have to use a ton of product to remove my makeup. Fortunately, it’s the same with this. One pump is enough to do my whole face easily. And it really breaks down everything. This even removes some of my more stubborn mascaras so incredibly well. Easy to emulsify, leaves my skin cleasnsed without any filminess or excess oil. I can see why this is a fan favourite.

NATURIUM THE SMOOTHER GLYCOLIC ACID BODY WASH – $32.00
After years of begging, Naturium finally launched in Sephora here in Australia late last year. And when I was putting my feelers out on what I should grab, a lot of you recommended the The Smoother Body Wash. As it turns out, I have actually used this before. But it’s been a few years since I last had it in my stash. So I figured it was well worth returning to it as I was low on exfoliating body washes at the time. Right off the bat, I remember why I enjoyed this so much back in the day. The formula is so silky smooth and gentle. The right balance of exfoliation and hydration for the skin. My upper arms feel smoother and some of my scarring is beginning to fade quite nicely. I still have gripes about the packaging though. The pump does feel more secure than it did 3 years ago. But I find it to be a little aggressive. It dispenses a lot of product per pump. I’ve only been using this every second day for about a month and it’s already halfway done. I’m flying through it. But I still love it and I would buy it again.

L’OREAL ELVIVE MIDNIGHT SERUM – $22.99
Now, this one I picked up because I fell in love with the Kerastase 8hr Magic Serum and I heard through the grapevine that this did a similar job for a fifth of the price. Now that I’ve been using it for the last few months, no, this is nothing like the Kerastase. First of all, I hate the scent they have for this. It’s super heavy floral and it lingers for a while. As for the actual treatment, it might be a case that this isn’t right for my hair type, but I find this leaves my hair feeling heavy and greasy. Like it isn’t soaking in properly. All in all, this isn’t doing much for me at all. So much so that I did bite the bullet and repurchase the Kerastase so I have it on hand as soon as I run out of/get sick of using this one. If you have very dry ends, you might enjoy this. But for me, this is a swing and a miss.

And that is a wrap on what’s in my shower! As always, let me know what your shower must haves are in the comments.

Cheers and love
Emily xo
