It’s been more than a little while since I shared my nighttime skincare routine. So I figured I was more than overdue to talk about what I do in the daytime. And seeing as I finally have my skin in a good groove, I figured that now was as good a time as ever to chat about it. So if you want to see what products I used to get my skin looking fresh and clean, just keep reading!
STEP 1 – CLEANSE
For the longest time, I was just using whatever cleanser I was using at night as my daytime cleanser as well. Recently however, I made the switch to using a Micellar Water instead. My Micellar Water of choice for the longest time has been the GARNIER SKIN ACTIVE MICELLAR WATER FOR OILY & COMBINATION SKIN. It leaves my skin feeling cleansed without it feeling tight or sticky. Plus, this is much quicker than using a gel cleanser. And that cannot be understated!
For those rare occasions that my skin does play up on me, I do like to use more of an exfoliating cleanser. And at the moment, I’ve been using the SWISSE BAMBOO FACIAL EXFOLIANT. It has natural exfoliants (which I love) and natural fruit acids that help remove dead skin cells, leaving my skin glowy and clean.
STEP 2 – TONE
This is a step that I feel like most people still skip, but it actually is important that you tone after you cleanse your skin. It helps re-balance your skin’s natural PH after cleansing and it is an added boost if you have oilier skin. For ages, I had been using the PIXI GLOW TONIC, which I still highly recommend. But at the moment, I’m using the KIEHL’S ULTRA FACIAL OIL FREE TONER. I’ve only been using it for the last couple of weeks, but it hasn’t irritated my skin or had any other adverse effects. So I’m counting it as a win.
STEP 3 – EYE CREAM
Now that I’m pushing 30, a good eye cream is becoming more and more essential. And I think I found one that I actually love. I’ve been using the OLE HENRIKSEN BANANA BRIGHT EYE CREAM for the last month and a half. And the difference is definitely noticeable.
STEP 4 – TREATMENTS & SERUMS
I do the bulk of my skin treatments overnight. But there are a couple that I do in the morning as well. I recently rediscovered my love for the LA ROCHE POSAY EFFACLAR DUO and I’ve been using it everyday to help with my milia and any pimples that might pop up.
I have also been using the ESSANO RADIANCE SUPER SERUM. I do enjoy using this product (I especially like it mixed with my moisturiser), but I don’t use it everyday and I tend to save it for cooler days when my skin leans a bit drier. If you have dry skin though, I suspect that you will love this!
STEP 5 – MOISTURISE
The one step I never skip is moisturising! At the moment, my moisturiser of choice has been the DERMALOGICA CLEAR START OIL CLEARING MATTE MOISTURISER. This has been a great one for this time of year. It’s loaded with natural fruit and tea tree oils that help keep the skin clear. And it soaks into the skin so quickly without that greasy feeling.
Now, while my moisturiser does contain an SPF, I do like to have a bit more sun protection. And that’s where my MECCA COSMETICA TO SAVE FACE SPF 50+ SUPERSCREEN is essential. It is the first SPF that I have used that hasn’t broken me out and I especially love that it has a slight tint to it. Not enough to add any real coverage, but just enough to even things out.
And that is my daily skincare routine! It may look like a lot, but I have it so finely tuned these days, that I can have all of this done in 5 minutes! What are some of your morning must haves? Let me know down below.
Cheers and love

I have been dying to try that sole Henrikson eye cream, I have heard so many amazing reviews about it!! Will have to pick it up after I finish my others. I wish the Effaclar Duo worked for me, everyone seems to love it, but it does nothing :/ I love the Mecca sunscreen though!!

The Ole Henriksen eye cream is the real deal! A definite repurchase when I run out! Shame about the La Roche Posay. I find that it has helped out quite a bit for me but all skin is different.
Sɑved as a favorite, I love your blog!
Thank you!
