As you all know, I do love a makeup challenge. I also happen to love creating a solid and effortless makeup look when I have less than zero time. So, I figured it would be fun to do a version of my five minute face series (because at this point, it is a series). But as a fun little twist, I wanted to incorporate as many of my favourite drugstore brands that I could. The result? Pretty gorgeous if you ask me! Let’s go through what I used to do my five minute face!
When it comes to doing a makeup look as quickly as possible, it helps to have a solid base pairing that you can trust. For me, my go to pairing is still to this day, the L’OREAL TRUE MATCH FOUNDATION – $33.99 and the MAYBELLINE AGE REWIND CONCEALER – $24.99. Both are tried and true and blend so easily. Making the rest of my makeup a breeze.
I’m a huge fan of creams still. And my go to cream bronzer at the drugstore is the AUSTRALIS DEWY + DARING CREAM BRONZER – $15.95*. The shade Summer Fling is a great all rounder. It adds a beautiful, neutral warmth to my cheeks. And a little bit dabbed on the eyelids makes for a solid eyeshadow look. For blush, I’ve been really enjoying the NYX COSMETICS FAT CHEEKS BLUSH – $19.99. The shade Fig Fizz is the perfect warm kiss of colour. And the formula is super lightweight and easy to use.
For the brows and eyes, I can keep this super easy. Brows get a hit of the AUSTRALIS INCREDIBROW GEL – $15.95. This means that I don’t need to worry about dicking around with a pencil to fill my brows in and as a bonus, the hold it gives lasts all day. I’ve already used the Australis bronzer on my lids, so that’s eyeshadow done. Which means I get to go in with one of my favourite affordable mascaras. The RIMMEL LONDON THRILL’SEEKER MASCARA – $24.95. This formula gives incredible length and volume. Plus, no transfer!
Finally, we have lips. And you know me, I love a lip combo that is easy and breezy. For this look, I lined my lips with the WET ‘N WILD PERFECT POUT GEL LIP LINER – $12.00. The shade Lay Down The Mauves is a fantasitc ‘My Lips But Better’ option. Lastly, for a little shine and gloss, I would use the REVLON GLIMMER LIP OIL – $23.00* in the shade Candy Hearts. A stunning neutral shade that would pair with the liner so well.
