Emmie’s Empties – January 2019

Happy first day of February! How are we here already? Anyways, today is also my first empties post for 2019. And I have a lot of stuff to talk about. Now, you’ll note that most of these are samples or minis. And there is a reason for that. I’ve made one of my 2019 resolutions to actually use as many of my sample products each month as I can. So if you want to know what I used up, just keep reading!

SWISSPERS CUCUMBER FACIAL WIPES – $5.99
Swisspers makes some of my favourite facial wipes. These were nicely saturated with product and they did a great job of removing my mascara at the end of the work day (which is all I really use facial wipes for these days anyway). I’m trying to use up all of the facial wipes I have and I won’t be buying them anymore. But if you still use them, these are pretty great.

NEUTROGENA MAKEUP REMOVING CLEANSING TOWELETTES – $8.50
These ones I didn’t like as much. They removed mascara ok, but they were drier than the Swisspers ones. Also, the sticker wouldn’t stick again after I opened it so that was a problem for me.

JIINJU BEAUTY GINSENG & EUCALYPTUS UNDEREYE MASK – $5.00
I actually really liked these! They were gel eye masks that sat really nicely and left my undereyes looking brighter and smoother. I would happily buy again.

GARNIER SKIN ACTIVE FRESH MIX TISSUE MASK – $7.00
This is a pretty nifty idea. The mask and the serum don’t get mixed together until you go to use it so it’s meant to preserve the serum better. In any case, it felt nice on the skin and I don’t have any real complaints. These masks are a bit pricey though, so I would recommend grabbing them on sale.

OLE HENRICKSEN SHEER TRANSFORMATION PERFECTING MOISTURISER – $52.00
Using this up made me sad because I really loved this moisturiser. It’s a really good, no frills moisturiser that I will definitely repurchase when I run out of moisturiser samples.

CLARISONIC SENSITIVE CLEANSING BRUSH HEAD – $35.00
Still not my favourite brush head, but I’ll still use this one over the normal one.

SOAP & GLORY SUGAR CRUSH BODY BUTTERCREAM – $20.00
Another sad empty. This stuff smells amazing and it was very moisturising on my skin. I will definitely repurchase in the future.

BOSICA MATCHA MAGIC SUPER ANTIOXIDANT MASK – $57.00
This was ok, I guess. Not entirely sure how it affected my skin, but it felt really nice. I wouldn’t actively buy it, but I wouldn’t say no to a sample.

KMART BEAUTY SPONGE – $3.00
You already know that I love these and have plenty more where this came from.

GOLDFADEN MD. BRIGHTENING ELIXIR – $116.00
This was a pretty generously sized sample and I got around two weeks worth of morning and night time use out of it. I did note that my skin seemed a lot firmer while I was using this. Maybe if I win the lotto, I might pick this up.

LA ROCHE-POSAY HYLAU-B5 HYLAURONIC SERUM ANTI WRINKLE CONCENTRATE – $69.99
I honestly don’t remember what I think about this. But I do like La Roche-Posay skincare so I might pick it up again eventually.

LA ROCHEP-POSAY HYLAU-B5 HYLAURONIC ANTI-WRINKLE CARE MOISTURISER – $59.99
This is in the same boat as the serum. Don’t remember it, but will probably give the full size a go.

ANDALOU NATURALS PROBIOTIC + C RENEWAL CREAM – $29.99
This I do remember because it was lovely! Very hydrating and it soaked right into the skin. This will more than likely be my next moisturiser purchase, I was that impressed!

CAUDAILE VINE ACTIV 3 IN 1 MOISTURISER – $60.00
This I didn’t like so much. It felt really sticky on the skin and it took a really long to to sink in. Won’t repurchase.

LA MER CREME DE LA MER MOISTURUSING CREAM – $125.00-$665.00
Have you ever gotten a sample or mini of a super expensive product and then breathed a sigh of relief when you realised you hated it? This was me. Even though I’m pushing 30, this was just way too heavy for my skin and it responded in kind. Definitely won’t be repurchasing.
