My Updated Morning Skincare Routine – September 2026

Posted on September 15, 2026September 14, 2026 by emmiesbeautylifeadmin

Well then, September is in full swing (hasn’t this year just flown by?) Which means it’s time to get back around to chatting about my updated morning routine. And this time, I have a solid balance of returning favourites and a few newbies that I am especially excited to talk about. Let’s get into it!

STEP 1 – CLEANSE
So, confession time. This might be the first year that the Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water does not feature in any of my Skincare Routine posts. Don’t get me wrong, I love the stuff dearly. But there is something so appealing about being able to go into Woolworths and buy a bottle of the GARNIER SKIN ACTIVE MICELLAR WATER – $17.00 right off the shelf. Yeah, this may have replaced the Bioderma as my favoruite. Lord knows I keep buying it (yes, I already have my back up)

STEP 2 – MIST
Guess who has two thumbs and is back on her bullshit? This guy. Yes, I did repurchase the TOWER 28 DAILY RESCUE FACIAL SPRAY – $46.00. In my defense, we didn’t have much of a winter here. And the sweat was sweating more than I would like. This has always come in clutch for me and it has a permanent spot in my collection

STEP 3 – TREATMENT
Here is the rare case of me having one serum in my routine that is a holdover fom my last stash. And a serum that is so new, I probably shouldn’t be reviewing it yet. The GOOD MOLECULES HYALURONIC ACID SERUM – $6.00USD is one that I’m slowly chipping my way through. I hae no real complaints about it. However, Good Molecules is currently on my proverbial shit list.

A brand that will never be on my shit list though is La Roche Posay. And when I saw that they had a new Melasyl based serum out, I pounced on it immediately. the LA ROCHE POSAY DOUBLE DOSE DISCOLOURATION SERUM – $87.99 has been specifically developed to target both signs of aging and strong discolouration. And seeing as I’m a) over 35, and b) someone who works in the sun, this serum was quite literally made in the lab for me. I’ve only had it in my routine since the start of the month. So, it’s early days. But I will be sure to keep you posted.

STEP 4 – MOISTURISE
Bringing back an old favourite sround these parts. The CLEAR SKINCARE MOISTURE + CREAM – $50.00* was actually the moisturiser that I had i my routine last winter. And it was the perfect balance of deep hydration without being too heavy to wear in the morning. I’m happy to have it back.

STEP 5 – SUN PROTECTION
Lastly, we have our all important sunscreen picks. And wouldn’t you know it? Both are returning favourites that are right on empty. The BANANA BOAT ULTRA LIGHT FACE FLUID SPF 50+ – $19.95 and the THE BREAKOUT HACK SKIN SKIN SHADY SPF 50+ MOISTURISER – $39.95 are sunscreens that I have repeatedly come back to. And will again.

And that is a wrap on morning routine! I’ve really embraced a ‘keep it simple, stupid’ over the last few months. Which is why this line up is much smaller than usual. But for the time being, it’s working for me. Let me know in the comments what your morning skincare routine looks like. And as always, have an amazing day!

Cheers and love
