Five Faves – May 2019

And May is finally over!

I get that May is my birthday month and all, but Holy Dooley! This month felt like it was taking forever to get through. On the bright side, it meant that I had heaps of time to try out new and exciting products. And I had a lot of awesome products that could have easily made it into my top five for the month. That’s how you know that these five are the best! So, if you want to know what products I loved this month, just keep reading!

NARS SKIN DEEP PALETTE – $90.00
I personally tend to avoid reviewing limited edition products. Mostly because they tend to, you know, sell out. But this particular palette is still in stock at the time of writing, so allow me to try and convince you to spend $90 on a neutral eyeshadow palette. This palette is all about the formula. It’s so smooth and pigmented, and yet riduculously easy to work with. The shades are perfect for everyday use. I’ve used one of the shades as a bronzer and another as a brow powder! And the packaging is really sturdy and good quality, so it would be perfect for travel. This is pretty much the only palette I’ved used this month and I know it’s expensive. But if you get a chance to swatch it, do it! I highly doubt you’ll regret it.

BOBBI BROWN CRUSHED LIQUID LIP – $40.00
Ok, full disclosure. I have only had this product for like a week. So if anything, that should show just how much I adore this liquid lipstick. The formula is unlike anything I have ever used. It’s so thin in consistency, yet so full of pigment! And it’s surprisingly long wearing as it has a staining effect on the lips. These have been raved about on line since they launched and I’m another convert! Try them if you can!

MAYBELLINE FIT ME CONCEALER – $13.95
Truth be told, I’ve been trying to pan this concealer for the last few months. And I have only just realised that I totally love it. I mean, I’ve always liked Fit Me (it’s a classic for a reason). And I’ve gone through many a tube over the years. But the shade that I’m using (Fair 15) is just perfect for everyday. I can slap it on, blend it out and go on with my day!

MCO BEAUTY HIGHLIGHT & GLOW STICK – $14.00
MCo Beauty (also known as ModelCo) went through a massive relaunch earlier this year. And seeing it has been many years since I last tried anything from them, I figured it was high time to try something out. Enter, the Highlight & Glow Stick in Champagne. This is stunning! I basically use this all over my face and just dab it with my finger to blend it out. And it’s a beautiful, lit from within kind of glow. I will say one thing about this shade in particular. I can easily make it work for me, but those with lighter skintones might struggle. MCo Beauty, if you read this (and if you do, hi!) Please make a lighter shade! Or hell, make all the shades. Because I will buy them!

RIMMEL WONDER’LUXE MASCARA – $20.95
I just reviewed this bad boy earlier this week (you can find that review here). But I am still so obsessed with this mascara! To the point where this may have slipped it’s way into my top 5 (which is a post I’ll probably do one day). Like the Fit Me, I have been wearing this every single day and I love the effect it gives to my lashes. So, so good!

And these are my five faves for May. Before I wrap this up, I just want to say a little something. Today is the one year anniversary of me launching Emmie’s Beauty Life to the world. And it has just been the most awesome thing. Launching my own little space has been a massive dream of mine and the knowledge that people actively come here and read my reviews will never stop blowing my mind. So, from the bottom of my heart, I just want to say thank you. And that I have so much more to share with you all!
