My Five Minute Face – 2021 Edition

Now that summer is beginning to creep back in, I’ve been changing up all of my routines to accommodate my skin. And while I have shown you all my updated morning skincare routine, it’s been a very long time since I went through, what I call, my five minute face makeup routine. This is the bare bones makeup routine that I do for either work or for when I simply need to look presentable. Also, it’s a good opportunity to give you all a sneak peek on what I’m trialing at the moment. So, if you want to see what I’m wearing on my face, just keep reading!

My mornings usually start out the same way. Skincare first up, breakfast in between (gives time for my skincare to soak in), and then makeup. For primer, because my skin is still a little on the dry side, I’ve been using the BOBBI BROWN VITAMIN ENRICHED FACE BASE – $88.00. I’ll give that a second to soak in and then I’ll go in with foundation. I’ve just started testing out the NARS SOFT MATTE FOUNDATION – $57.00. I wear the shade 4.5 Vienna, which is a pretty alright colour match for me. Maybe a little golden, but still wearable. So far, I like it. Good coverage, feels weightless on the skin, a little bit goes a long way. Stay tuned for that review sometime next month.

For concealer, I’ve been sticking with an old fave, the NARS CREAMY RADIANT CONCEALER – $43.00. I’ll then set my base with the CHARLOTTE TILBURY AIRBRUSH FLAWLESS FINISH POWDER – $69.00 and spray on some of the HOURGLASS VEIL SOFT FOCUS SETTING SPRAY – $68.00 as a finishing touch.

For the eyes, especially when I’m in a hurry, I like to keep them as simple as possible. And that means shadow sticks! Recently, I’ve been reaching for the MECCA MAX ZOOM SHADOW STICKS – $19.00. They are just so easy to use. I wore Copper today, but I own a ton of these shadow sticks and they are all awesome. For mascara, this is another future review product. I’ve been wearing the RIMMEL WONDER EXTENSION MASCARA – $21.95. And this review will probably be up very soon because I have thoughts. Also, I ignored my brows because I’m lazy.

To add some colour to my cheeks, I’m still wearing the FENTY BEAUTY SUN STALK’R INSTANT WARMTH BRONZER – $46.00. If you know, you know. And because on this day, I was feeling bad and bougie, I whipped out my brand new TOM FORD SHADE & ILLUMIATE BLUSH in EXPLICIT FLUSH – $115.00. I stuck to the lighter side for this look, but when you swirl the shades together? It’s so beautiful!

Finally, we have lips. And while on most day, I’ll usually just wear lip balm (usually Lanolips), I felt like I had to wear something today. I pulled out my MAYBELLINE LIFTER GLOSS in TOPAZ – $18.95. And I immediately remembered why I loved these as much as I do!
