Best Of The Best – Nude Lips

Lipstick trends may come and go, but for me, a good nude is always in style. So today, I am attempting the borderline impossible. Going through all of the nude/neutral shades that I own and picking out my top five absolute must own shades. These are the lipsticks that, if I were to lose all of my lipsticks overnight, I would immediately repurchase. So, let’s dive right on in!

5 – MECCA MAX POUT POP LIPSTICK in MEAN GIRL – $20.00
DESCRIBED AS – Brick Toned Neutral
Starting off with probably the least conventional nude of the bunch, Mean Girl has been getting a serious workout from me over the last few months. I’ve always had a soft spot for brick toned neutrals because they work so well on so many skin tones. And it’s a good gateway shade for those who maybe want to experiment with colour, but still want to play it safe.

4 – GUCCI ROUGE A LEVRES SATIN in PENNY BEIGE – $64.00
DESCRIBED AS – Yellow Toned Beige
Next up, probably the most nude shade of the bunch! It took me a while to get into beigey tones like this one. But now I’m all about them. This shade will probably be divisive and I don’t see it working for everyone. But for those occasions where I want to embrace the mustard yellows and midtones, this is the lippie I reach for every time.

3 – HUDA BEAUTY POWER BULLET CREAM GLOW in MONEY MAKER – $35.00
DESCRIBED AS – Medium Warm Brown
Had I done this list maybe five years ago (and I had the same collection), a shade like this would have wound up pretty close to the top. I was all about the deep neutrals in my younger days. And while I don’t wear super deep nudes anymore, I still reach for this one from Huda Beauty quite a bit. I love this shade in particular with a bronze smokey eye for a night out. But it also makes a great statement lip.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICK in PILLOW TALK – $49.00
DESCRIBED AS – Nude Pink
I know, I know. I can feel your eyes rolling as you read this. But screw it, I absolutely love this lipstick. Pillow Talk is as close to being a My Lip But Better shade that I have ever come across. It literally goes with everything. And the only reason why it’s not number one is because…

1 – MAC COSMETICS MATTE LIPSTICK in VELVET TEDDY – $30.00
DESCRIBED AS – Deep Toned Beige
Velvet Teddy exists. I swear, this shade is a part of me. Like, it’s embedded into my DNA. I’ve been wearing Velvet Teddy forever and I’m not sure what I can say that hasn’t already been said. Again, this is a divisive shade. But I’ll love it always.
