Who else cannot believe that we are pretty much halfway through 2018? It feels like just yesterday that I was celebrating New Years and the next thing I know, Christmas will be right around the corner! In any case, June was crazy busy for me with work and product testing. And as always, there were a few products that really stuck out for me. Some are brand new and others are old faves. So lets jump right on in to my favourites for June!
SOAP & GLORY SUGAR CRUSH BODY BUTTERCREAM – $20.00
The last couple of weeks have been crazy cold up north. Add in the fact that my job involves a lot of water and the end result is that my arms have been super dried out and scaly. The Soap & Glory body cream has been saving my arms and legs in a big way! It’s a super thick cream but it absorbs into the skin quickly and it makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. It also smells like lime cordial, which isn’t a bad thing at all!
FRESH SUGAR LIP TREATMENT – $35.00
Let me preface this by saying when I got the mini of the Fresh Lip Treatment, I didn’t want to like it. It’s a $35 lip balm, I’m pretty sure I can’t afford to like it! But I have used this every single day since I got it and it has become an essential part of my daily routine. Usually, this is the time of year where my lips get the most chapped no matter what lip balm I use. But ever since I started using the Fresh Lip Treatment, they have stayed smooth and hydrated. I will definitely be buying the full size when I run out and at the rate I’m going with the mini, it might be soon.
HUDA BEAUTY LIQUID MATTE LIPSTICK – Bombshell – $35.00
OK, I had this brilliant idea for a future blog post. I was going to do a road test of all of my liquid lipsticks and go through my favourites. This plan ended up getting derailed when I realised that I had worn this lipstick for three weeks straight. The Huda Beauty liquid lipsticks are so low effort. Thin, but intensely pigmented and they last ages on the lips without feeling excessively drying. To me, they are definitely worth trying if you haven’t already.
RIMMEL KATE SCULPTING KIT BRONZING PALETTE – $16.95
I was super lucky to score all three of the new Rimmel face palettes. And while I have spent the month testing them all out, the bronzing palette has been the one that I have used the most. What I do is swirl my brush (usually the Real Techniques Powder Brush) into the top two shades (the bottom shade is too dark for me right now) and apply it that way. The bronzer blends out without looking patchy and it has a slightly rosy undertone, which I really like during this time of year. It also has a slight sheen to it, so if you prefer matte bronzers, you may not like this but I love it!
TOO FACED BORN THIS WAY CONCEALER – $41.00 & RIMMEL TRANSPARENT LOOSE POWDER – $15.95
I’m counting this favourite as one because this has been my go to combo this month. When I bought the Too Faced Concealer, I was initially worried that it was too dark for me (I bought the shade light), but it’s actually a perfect match for me when I’m not wearing makeup and the slight peachiness of it means that it conceals my dark circles pretty dang well. The formula blends out smoothly and it doesn’t immediately crease on me, which considering my undereye area, that’s kind of amazing! I do still set it and the powder that performs the best is the Rimmel Loose Powder. This is already a favourite of mine, but paired with the Too Faced Concealer, it makes for a pretty awesome duo that makes my makeup last all day long.
And that’s all for this month! Let me know what you have been loving down below. I love knowing what you guys have been loving.
Cheers and Love
