Emmie’s Beauty Life Black Friday Haul 2021

Yeah, I know that I just did a fairly sizable haul over in Townsville. But I’ve never been able to resist the lure of Black Friday. So many sales, so little time. And now that all of my parcels have arrived safe and sound, it’s now time for a haul!

Yep, we are going through everything that I have purchased over the last few weeks. Most of this is Black Friday. But there are also a few purchases here that I made just prior. So, let’s do the fun thing!

As I just mentioned before, there were two purchases that I made prior to Black Friday. And the first was from AURIC COSMETICS. If you haven’t heard of Auric before, it’s a beauty range owned by YouTube OG Samantha Ravndahl that launched back in January of this year. And when I tell you her products are amazing, I mean it (consider this mention a sneak peek for my EOY Faves). In any case, for Auric’s holiday collection this year, Sam released this stunning pair of her SMOKE RELECT EYESHADOW DUO’S. The olive green is called Entice and the burgundy is Disrupt. And I can’t wait to play with them. These shades are so well thought out and if the formula is the same as the other shades in the line, these will be amazing. The shadows are still available individually. But the duo in the gift box is now sold out.

The other big Pre Black Friday purchase that I made was from ULTRA VIOLETTE. And it was for their newly released DREAM SCREEN TINTED VEIL. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while (I remember that it was supposed to launch back in September). And this will probably be my first review of the new year. So, stay tuned for that!

Now we are in Black Friday territory! I did orders from Sephora, Huda Beauty, Mecca and I popped into Kmart for a few things (that was Post Black Friday, but I’m counting it here). I’ve broken the products into categories, which I figured would be easier to follow.

First up, perfumes. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve become quite the perfume junkie as of late. And when Sephora had 20%, I took it as an opportunity to pick up a fragrance that had been on my wishlist for a while. The OUAI DEAN STREET EAU DE PARFUM. And I’m so glad that I picked this up. First of all, the bottle? So aesthetically pleasing! And the scent is so fresh and clean. I’ll link the notes here. But for me, it’s a light floral, with a hint of sweetness. Definitely worth scoping out.

I also picked up the KAYALI DISCOVERY SAMPLER KIT. This one is a Huda Beauty exclusive and it contains all eight of Kayali’s popular fragrances. Kayali has been on my radar all year. And I do want to pick up one of these perfumes next year as my birthday present. So a kit like this is perfect as it gives me a chance to try before I commit. And good thing too, as the one I wanted the most has already been ruled out by me (bit too coconut heavy).

As far as skincare went, I kept things pretty light this time. I only picked up the WISHFUL CLEAN GENIE CLEANSING BUTTER. I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m generally a fan of the Wishful line. And I’m hating the cleansing balm that I’m currently using. So, this might get pulled in sooner rather than later.

Getting into the makeup now, and I picked up a couple of primers. Firstly, the HUDA BEAUTY WATER JELLY HYDRATING PRIMER. This has been on my wishlist all year long and it’s almost never in stock. So, when I saw that it was available during the Huda sale for 30% off, I pounced on that one. This one will probably be saved for next winter though. So, stay tuned for my thoughts.

The one that I cracked open straight away however was the MILK MAKEUP HYDRO GRIP PRIMER. I absolutely adore this primer (again, sneak peek for the EOY Favourites here). And I had to have it back in my life.

A few cheeky cheek products next. The first of which being the OXX STUDIO BRONZE WHIP CREAM BRONZER. This is a more recent purchase as I saw the amazing Katie’s Cosmopolitan over on Instagram rave about this bronzer. Going as far as saying that it’s a dupe for the Chanel cream bronzer. Now, I still don’t own the Chanel cream bronzer. But I have so many other cream bronzers in my collection that I want to compare this to.

I also grabbed the N.Y.M.P.H KISS GLOW BLUSH. This is one of those products that I had been debating on for a while. It’s a deeper shade of blush than I would normally go for. But the reflect is so gorgeous. I actually want to see if it’s a dupe for something else already in my collection. Stay tuned for that.

Getting into eye products, and this was, by far, my bougiest purchase. I was fully tempted by the BYREDO 5 COLOUR EYESHADOW PALETTE in DYSCO. I have heard a ton of good buzz about the Byredo makeup. Especially their eye products. And even though I’ve had plenty of requests to try their mascara, it was love at first sight with this palette.

A few more random eye products, I picked up another one of the HUDA BEAUTY MATTE & METAL LIQUID EYESHADOWS in MINTED & DINERO. I have been eyeing this shade off all year and I do love the formula of these. Speaking of formula, I also grabbed the OXX STUDIO LIQUID EYESHADOW DUO in BRONZE. I’ve mentioned before that I’m working on a dupe post for the new year. And I have one of the Huda liquid shadows in a similar colour duo. I also recently decluttered the last of my brow gels, so I picked up the HUDA BEAUTY #BOSSBROWS FULL ‘n FLUFFY FIBER GEL. This is another one that I’ve heard a lot of good buzz about. Finally for eyes, I grabbed the MECCA MAX WHIP LASH MASCARA and the MAYBELLINE SKY HIGH MASCARA. You know, for reasons.

Heading into lip products now. And I didn’t pick up that many to be honest. Lip products have taken a back seat for me recently. But I did have to at least try the MAKEUP BY MARIO ULTRA SUEDE LIPSTICK in SIERRA. This is a newer launch. But would you look at that bullet? So stunning! I also picked up one of the HUDA BEAUTY LIP LINERS in MUSE. I’ll always have a soft spot for this formula and it’s a shame that it’s been discontinued. But Huda’s liners are amazing.

I also picked up a brush! And this was off the recommendation from the incredible Bianca Hill over on Instagram. She has raved about the RARE BEAUTY LIQUID TOUCH CONCEALER BRUSH all year long. And when it comes to products all Bianca needs to say is jump and I’ll say how high!

Finally, I did score a freebie with my Mecca order! The fan favourite MECCA COSMETICA AFTER SUN MIST. And considering how hot it’s been getting as of late, this couldn’t have come at a better time. It smells utterly delightful and it’s so refreshing. I’ve actually been keeping this in the fridge and spritzing myself regularly.
