Happy Friday, everyone! And welcome back to the latest installment of my favourite series, the stuff y’all got me to buy! Can you believe that this is my eighth one? I actually can. You are all very good at getting me to spend my moolah!
If you’re new here, this is where I test out my fellow influencers favourite purchases and see how they work for myself. I have a fun little bundle of products to talk about today. So, let’s get stuck in!
NIOD SUPEROXIDE DISMUTASE SACCHARIDE MIST – $75.00
RECOMMENDED BY – Hannah English (as well as the entirety of Skincare Instagram)
Ever since I fell in love with the Flavanone Mud back in 2020, I have been meaning to try more from Niod. But the problem I kept running into was as someone who considers herself a skincare novice at best, the Niod range can be quite overwhelming and I didn’t know where to start. So, I did the only thing I knew how to do. Researched my butt off to see what the bigger skincare pages were loving. And the SDS Mist was a product that was repeatedly bought up as a favourite.
MY THOUGHTS – Admittedly, it’s still early days with this one (I’ve been using regularly for around 6 weeks). And this is a product that is supposed to have a lot of long term benefits. For right now, however, I do really like this. I use this as my ‘toner’ step after cleansing both morning and night. I like that the sprayer isn’t too aggressive and it allows for quite even coverage across the face. And it has so far paired well with all of the serums that I have used after this. I’ll let you know come empties time if I notice any long term benefits.
RARE BEAUTY LIQUID TOUCH CONCEALER BRUSH – $28.00
RECOMMENDED BY – Bianca Hill (kinda)
Considering that all of my brush recommendations come from Instagram, I’m genuinely surprised that this is the first one that I’ve had in this series. But when Bianca raved about the Rare Beauty foundation brush, I knew I had to get it. One small problem, that brush has been in and out of stock ever since Rare Beauty launched. So, I naturally went with the next best thing, the concealer brush!
MY THOUGHTS – A little bit about me. My favourite concealer brush of all time is the Zoeva 142 Concealer Buffer. That brush is very rounded at the top and the main reason why I love it is because it allows me to gently sweep the concealer and pat it in around my eye. The Rare Beauty brush, as you can see, is far more angular in it’s shape. So I found that I have to change my blending habits when I use it. This works best with only a light tapping motion, buffing a bit more as you blend the concealer in. I do like it, but it is a learning curve for me. The brush is very soft and I actually find that I can use less concealer with it as it makes the concealer stretch further without sacrificing coverage. I’ve only used it with liquid based formulas, still need to try with a more cream base. But this brush is a goodie.
PAT MCGRATH BLITZ ASTRAL QUAD in RITUALISTIC ROSE – $105.00
RECOMMENDED BY – Hannah English (again!)
I swear, I think I need to send Hannah a commission check every time she influences me to buy a Pat McGrath palette. There I was, scrolling though Instagram, when BAM! She has a post of her wearing the most stunning bronze shadow look. She said it was this palette and I thought ‘I want that’.
MY THOUGHTS – Let’s be real, is this palette a need? No. But it’s so fun and I’m so glad that I own it. If I want to have a lazy, but still glam, makeup day, this is the palette that I use. My favourite shade is that top pink (Astral Rose Orchid), which has a really gorgeous pink/yellow shift. I literally slap these on with my clean fingers, blend the edges out and go! I’ll be the first to admit that these palettes are pricey (look at who we are talking about). But if you find a quad with an colour story that appeals to you, I say grab it. Especially on sale.
SUMMER FRIDAYS THE TRIO PERFUME OIL – Sold Out
RECOMMENDED BY – Centaine McLean, Camille Moon (On A Beauty Bender)
2021 was the year I really got into fragrances and perfumes (if you want to see a post on my growing perfume collection, let me know!). And while I knew that Summer Friday’s had ventured into candles, I didn’t know that they had perfume oils until I saw Centaine and Camille raving about them on Instagram. Now, these sold out the first time around super quickly. But when I saw that Mecca had done a restock, they made their way into my cart in record time.
MY THOUGHTS – Oh yeah, definitely worth the hype. Well, one of them is anyway. This trio has three different scents that are perfect for summer. Coconut Wave, Soft Vanilla, and Crisp Citrus. And by far, the Citrus one is my favourite. Like, if Summer Friday’s were to release a full size tomorrow, I’d buy it without question. The other two scents are a bit more mixed. I like the vanilla enough. But I can’t wear the coconut. It’s too strong on the nose for my liking and it triggers my mum into sneezing fits.
And those are my thoughts
DIOR BACKSTAGE ROSY GLOW BLUSH in 001 PINK – $64.00
RECOMMENED BY – Azra (The Makeup Treasury)
Ahh, the blush that attempted to break the internet. Luckily, I don’t need a Kardashian/Jenner to get me to buy anything. All I need is my blush soul sister Azra to say that she has three backups of this shade to convince me to give it a go.
MY THOUGHTS – Now, this blush is the definition of a mixed bag. I’ll start with the things I like. Firstly, it is hella pigmented. I’ve used this like 15 times now and the embossing hasn’t budged. That’s how little I need. Also, the wear time is very impressive. This lasts so long on the skin. But my goodness, Dior needs to hurry up and bring out more shades in this formula. Because this shade of pink just doesn’t work for me on it’s own. I mostly use it in conjunction with other blushes just to add a bit of brightness. But it’s a bit too bold for me.
And those are my current influenced picks. As always, let me know in the comments what I influenced you to pick up recently. And I hope y’all have a great weekend!
Cheers and Love

I have definitely been influenced by Instagram too! I love the Zoeva 142 concealer buffer too, it’s so good. I will need to try some of these picks.
