Wowser, it’s been more than a hot minute since I last did a One Brand Recommendations. And seeing as the last one I did was more high end, I figured it was high time I ventured back into the drugstore and share some of the goods from one of my all time favourite brands, Revlon Cosmetics.
Ahh, Revlon. Your mum probably loves it! And as a brand, I feel like they have truly stood the test of time (90 years this March!). But I also feel that it’s a brand that is often overlooked these days because, like I said, they have been around for so long. So, today, I’m going to share 10 of my favourite Revlon products. Some of these are definitely newer. But other’s I’ve been using for basically my entire makeup wearing life! Let’s dive on in!
REVLON PHOTOREADY ROSE GLOW PRIMER – $29.95
Starting off with one of the more divisive picks, I know that there are people put there that loathe this primer. But for me, it’s a godsend. Especially during winter when my skin is much drier. This adds a beautiful luminosity to the skin and pairs well with many of my foundations. I find the best tip I can give for this primer is to use a little bit on your driest areas only.
REVLON COLORSTAY MAKEUP FOUNDATION – $34.95
A lot of the products in this post are admittedly newer favourites. But Revlon Colorstay Foundation is eternal. It’s still very much Baby’s First Full Coverage Foundation and I have been using it since before I can remember. Well, the one for oily skin anyway. These days, I do lean towards the one for dry skin. But this foundation is bulletproof. It doesn’t budge, it covers up everything and when it’s on sale, you can grab it for less than $20.
REVLON PHOTOREADY ROSE GLOW MIST – $23.95
I love me a good multi use mist. And this is such a fab one First of all, it smells like watermelon (delicious). And it’s super refreshing to use throughout the day. But the main way I used it is after primer but before foundation just to give me an extra boost of glowy hydration. My only concern is that I can’t seem to find it in stock at Priceline or Chemist Warehouse. I’ll be gutted if it gets discontinued.
REVLON COLORSTAY GLAZE STICK – $19.95
We love a good eyeshadow stick here. But I swear that I have heard no one talk about the Glaze Sticks! These are awesome! Especially if you love a super sparkly moment on the lids. They are easy to apply and blend and they have a very impressive wear time for a shadow like this.
REVLON VOLUMAZING MASCARA – $19.95
I’m not one for gatekeeping makeup products. But I have been quietly using this mascara behind the scenes here at Emmie’s Beauty Life HQ ever since I reviewed it back in 2018. And I still love it as much as I did when I first discovered it. Definitely one of the better mascaras for volume and separation that I use on the regular.
REVLON COLORSTAY SKINLIGHTS POWDER BRONZER – $24.95
Glowy bronzers are something I go back and forward on. usually they are more sparkly than glowy. But this one is beautiful! It’s illuminating without being chunky`and while the undertone is a little warmer than I would normally go for, it pairs surprisingly well with my skin. I only wish that they had more shades!
REVLON SKINLIGHTS PRISMATIC HIGHLIGHTER – $24.95
Speaking of glowy, holy mother of Jesus. This one actually blew up in the Aussie Beauty community back when it launched and when you apply it, it’s easy to see why. This might be one of the best drugstore highlighter on the market right now. So smooth and velvety.
REVLON KISS GLOW LIP OIL – $19.95
Truth be told, I’m not super huge on lip oils. But Revlon nailed the consistency of these ones. Light and comfortable, without leaving your lips feeling slippery. Plus, I love that there are a ton of shades in this line to choose from.
REVLON COLORBURST MATTE BALM – $19.95
Another oldie but a goodie. I’m pretty sure I first discovered these when I stole them from my older sister. Closed to a decade later, I still have a soft spot in my heart for them. God, even the scent of these is nostalgic to me. I love that they come in multiple different formulas (matte and glossy) and the range of shades is nice and diverse.
REVLON COLORSTAY SATIN INK LIP COLOUR – $26.95
Finally, we have one of the newer offerings from Revlon. I’ve always had mixed results when it came to Revlon’s liquid lipsticks. But the Satin Ink’s were a straight away slam dunk. This formula is pigmented, light, super comfortable, and wears for ages.
And those are my picks from Revlon. Believe it or not, I had a much harder time than I thought I would narrowing it down to 10 products (Revlon’s lip products could have easily filled more than half the list). But I hope that this post inspires you to try some goodies from Revlon. Let me know in the comments what your faves are from Revlon. And, as always, let me know who I should do a One Brand Recommendations on next!
Cheers and love

Wow, I didn’t realise Revlon has been around for 90 years! I am a big fan of their Colorstay foundation, you are right it is budge-proof and a great buy when it’s on special.
