Emmie’s Empties – February 2022

Happy Friday everyone. It’s a new day in a new month. And the only thing I have to do is take out the trash! That’s right, it’s empties time once again. And this one is a goodie. A solid combo of faves and fails. Let’s dive on in!

SYNERGIE SKIN MASQUERASE ANTI-AGING MASK – $118.00*
I got sent this in PR ages ago and I sincerely don’t remember what I think about it. Well, besides the fact that it did smell like chocolate. I probably wouldn’t rush out and pick this up. But I am interested in exploring this brand. If y’all have any recommendations, hit me up!

BAAGI MILAYGIIN PINK OCHRE CLAY MASK – $50.00
Such a beautiful, calming mask. I loved the formula and it worked well as both a mask and a spot treatment. What I will say is that because it’s a very natural mask, it did dry out quickly and when I went to use it recently, I noticed the scent had gone a little funky. I would buy this again. But maybe when my skincare stash isn’t overflowing.

BEAUTE PACIFIQUE DEEP PORE CLEANSING MASK – $48.00*
I’ve been through a journey with this mask. I liked it initially for when my face was particularly congested. But when it came to winter and my skin was more on the dry side, this sucked the life out of my face. And when I went to use it again when it was warmer, the formula had gone super funky. So, yeah, wasn’t a fan of this in the end.

BONDI SANDS HYDRA UV PROTECT FACE FLUID SPF 50+ – $19.95
LOVE! Eternal favourite. Will definitely repurchase.

GUESS BELLAVITA EAU DE PARFUM – $69.00
I got this as a sample in my Bellabox and all I can say is wow. This scent is absolutely gorgeous. Very sweet and floral and I would pick this up.

ELF LASH IT LOUD MASCARA – $14.00
One of the last mascaras I reviewed back in 2021. And while it wasn’t the worst, it still wasn’t good enough for me to immediately repurchase. I have however seen a few other reviews from people who love this. So, it’s still worth trying out.

CLARINS VELVET CLEANSING MILK – $46.00*
I’ve tried my fair share of makeup removers now. And while this one from Clarins isn’t terrible. I still didn’t like it. You’re supposed to splotch it on your face using your hands 7 times (their words, not mine) and it’s supposed to dissolve your makeup. This didn’t dissolve anything. I ended up using this in the shower as a body was in a bid to use it up.

FRANK BODY PERKY SCULPTING BODY HYDRATOR – $28.00
I am in two mind about this product, On the one hand, it’s fabulous. Smells great, leaves my body feeling hydrated and glowy. The problem is I hate the packaging. It’s a cute idea in theory (you’re meant to recycle the coffee cup). But if you’re an irresponsible monster like me and you lose the tiny tabby part that covers the mouth hole, it will cause the product to go bad and stale. I did get most of the way through this before the formula went truly bad. And I would happily buy it again if they were to change the packaging.

NEOSTRATA SKIN ACTIVE CELLUAR RESTORATION NIGHT CREAM – $76.99*
You know what? I really liked this stuff! This is an AHA based serum, quite similar to the Liquid Gold from Alpha-H. And it left my skin looking so glowy and smooth. This I would consider grabbing.

GO TO SKINCARE TRAMSFORMAZING SHEET MASK – $9.00
My second favourite sheet mask. I love using these before putting on makeup because it gives a beautiful glow to my base.

LA ROCHE POSAY CICAPLAST MASQUE B5 – $12.95
My favourite sheet mask, period. I love using these just whenever I feel like it. And I always make sure I have 2-3 on me at all times.
