Well, that was an eventful couple of months. I genuinely feel like I’ve accomplished so much recently as far as the blog goes. And I’ve been busier than ever testing out products to recommend to y’all. But, as always, there were a few standouts. And this time, it’s all makeup! So, let’s chat about the five products that stood out to me during winter!
ROSE INC SKIN ENHANCE LUMINOUS TINTED SERUM – $73.00
My review of this went up a week ago. So I can keep this one nice and short. This is my current favourite skin tint style product. Makes my skin look so radiant and healthy. I cannot recommend this enough. Having said that, one thing I didn’t mention in my review was that if you are going to buy this, buy it from Mecca. Only because the international shipping time from the Rose Inc website was kinda outrageous (5 weeks!).
CHARLOTTE TILBURY BEAUTIFUL SKIN SUNKISSED GLOW BRONZER – $75.00
One from early in the season. But this might just make it into the end of year faves. It’s that good. When you touch it in the pan, the texture is almost like a hard mousse. But when it’s on the skin, it just melts. Mrs Charlotte put her whole Tilbussy into this bronzer and I adore it!
NUDESTIX NUDIES MATTE ALL OVER FACE BUSH COLOUR in PICANTE – $51.00
I’ve been all about orange blushes recently. And out of all of the ones that I’ve picked up recently, Picante has been my favourite. Now, while I’ll admit that it does look super intense in the tube, but it blends so easily. And this adds such a stunning warmth to the skin (it actually pairs well with the CT bronzer). I need to try more from this range for sure!
NUDESTIX MAGNETIC PLUSH PAINTS – $45.00
These actually surprised me. I got them as part of a set that Sephora had on sale (the Nudestix Heaven & Earth set). And out of everything in that set, these are what I have used the most! As liquid eyeshadows, they blend out and wear incredibly well. And I also love Sunset Peach (the orange shade) as a blush. These, as far as I can tell, aren’t available on their own yet. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they get added to the permanent line.
HOURGLASS PHANTOM VOLUMIZING GLOSSY BALM – $53.00
It’s been a while since I truly fell in love with anything from Hourglass. But they knocked it out of the park with these glossy balms. They are so easy to just chuck on and they make my lips look so juicy and plump. The two shades I have are Mist and Trance. And while I love both of them, I have to give the edge to Mist. On me, it’s basically a YLBB shade. I need more!
And that’s a wrap on the makeup. Time for the bonus faves!
THE BOB’S BURGERS MOVIE (Disney +) – I’ve loved Bob’s Burgers for years. I actually used to pirate it back in the day because it wasn’t readily available to watch anywhere in Australia. So I was utterly delighted when they announced a movie a few years back. Now, having seen it, it’s easily my favourite movie of the year. Plot wise, it’s basically a 90 minute episode of the show (Bob & Linda having money troubles, kid’s doing hi-jinks). But it bought a massive smile to my face. It’s now on Disney + (as well as the show). And it’s one I definitely recommend. Even if you haven’t watched the show.
NAKED LIFE BETTA BOBA PEACH ICED TEA – $4.50 (Woolworths)- Fun fact about me. I freaking love peach iced tea. If you ever see me drinking iced tea, it’s usually peach. So when my mum spotted this during her weekly shop, she picked me up a can to try out. As far as peach tea’s go, this one is really good. Not too sweet and a good mix of black tea and peach flavour. The thing that trips me out about it is that it’s a boba tea. Now, I love boba (Mount Isa doesn’t have anywhere that does good boba). But all of the boba that I’ve had has been round. The boba in this is actually rectangles. And I’ll admit, it messed with my brain for a second. Once I got past that, it was delicious and chewy. They have other teas in the line (both milk based and non-milk based)
THE BOYS (AMAZON TV) – I’ll keep this brief. Season three of The Boys is easily some of the best TV that has aired this year. My jaw is still on the floor when I think of some of the shenanigans that happened this season. If this show is your bag, and you haven’t watched it, I cannot recommend it enough. But I have to stress that it’s not for everyone.
What were some of the things you loved during winter? Let me know in the comments below!
Cheers and love
