Well folks, we are officially at the tail end of 2022. And if you’re anything like me, you know that this time of year can be a lot. I’ve had more than a couple of stressful days at work lately. And that has put me in the mood to do one thing and one thing only. Stalk Sephora/Mecca/etc for things to add to my wish list!
Now, I’ll be the first person to admit that I do not need to be adding to my makeup collection. Which is why many of the products on this list are wants, not needs. But I also know when I’m stressed out, I shop. And some of these are too pretty to resist. So, for today’s reading pleasure, these are five products that I’m one shitty day at work away from buying. Let’s get into it!
NARS RISING STAR CHEEK PALETTE – $89.00
I’ve bought most of the holiday cheek palettes that have come out this year. But for whatever reason, I still haven’t bought this yet. I’m not entirely sure what’s holding me back with this one. I adore the colour story and the reviews I’ve seen have been overwhelming positive. Not to mention, I don’t even have the excuse of already owning one of these Nars cheek palettes. A small part of me believe’s that I’ll regret not getting it. So, maybe I should…
MAKEUP BY MARIO ETHEREAL EYES EYESHADOW PALETTE – $TBA
On the flip side, I know precisely why I don’t own this yet. It’s not out at Cult Beauty… That’s a joke. Truth be told, I’m actually super on the fence about this one. While I can absolutely vouch for the Makeup By Mario eyeshadow formula (his matte shadows are some of the best I’ve ever used). The pictures I’ve seen aren’t doing this palette a lot of justice. It just doesn’t look like it has a lot of depth across the shades. Also, at $68.00USD, this palette will most likely be close to $100.00 Australian. And I’m just not sure that I like it enough to pay that much (says the girl who has EIGHT Motherships). I think I want to see more IRL pictures of this first.
GUCCI PALETTE BEAUTE DES YEUX GORGEOUS FLORA – $230.00
It’s rare that I want makeup purely for aesthetic reasons. But this palette has been haunting my dreams since September. It’s just so gosh darn pretty! I don’t care if the formula is bad. I just want this palette to have and hold and stare at. Having said that, I have heard that the formula of the shadows is really good. And the colour story, while not exactly groundbreaking, is practical enough to be used every day. But still, PRETTY *gremlin noises*.
BOY SMELLS MARBLE FRUIT EDP – $TBA
Ahh, a rare buy on site for this list. Boy Smells is a brand that has been on my radar for a while. And I’ve quickly fallen in love with their perfumes this year (Suede Pony is by far my favourite). So when I was trawling through their website and saw a fragrance with notes of Nectarine, Pear, Magnolia, Musk, and Cedar. I knew immediately that I had to have it. Unfortunately, Boy Smells won’t ship internationally. But Mecca started stocking their perfumes a few months back. So it’s only a matter of time before this becomes available here.
SUNDAY RILEY GOOD GENES LACTIC ACID TREATMENT – $128.00
While the makeup world is popping off, there haven’t been a lot of skincare releases that have caught my eye as of late. So, here’s a product that has been on the wish list for a while. You see, I remember when Good Genes was on every skincare lovers list. So many people raved about it. And I wanted to try it so badly. There was just one problem. I was under the impression for a long time that my skin hated lactic acid. Whenever I would use a serum or treatment that had lactic acid, my skin would either break out or flare up. Sometimes even both. But at the beginning of the year, I introduced the Naturium lactic acid into my routine. And I’ve been using it without issue ever since. So I reckon my skin has built up a tolerance to it over time. And seeing as the Naturium treatment and Good Genes has the same levels of Lactic Acid. Once I’ve finished one, I will be buying the other.
And that is my wish list at the moment. Good thing I’m a responsible adult. Otherwise I’d have no money! What beauty products are doing the fan dance in your direction? Let me know in the comments!
Cheers and love
