Well folks, it looks like autumn is finally beginning to arrive. Which means it’s once again time to switch out my everyday makeup drawer and pull in some new goodies. My big focus this edit, besides the stuff I plan on reviewing, is to add as much glow and radiance to my skin as possible. Because we are approaching the time of year where my skin begins to really look dull and dry. And it needs all of the help it can get. Let’s get into the edit.
For my primer, I have two this month. I had a bunch of friends ask me for my thought on the new GLOW RECIPE STRAWBERRY BHA PORE SMOOTH BLUR DROPS – $53.00. So, I’ll have a play with them. I also recently gave the CHARLOTTE TILBURY BRIGHTENING YOUTH GLOW PRIMER – $74.00 a go and I really liked the subtle glow it gave my skin. I’m excited to use it more.
Foundation time now (the Makeup By Mario review should be out next week). And both of these are extremely highly requested. I’ve been meaning to review the DIOR BACKSTAGE FACE & BODY FOUNDATION – $75.00 forever. But then I get distracted by new, pretty, shiny things and I keep putting off actually writing the review. I shall endeavour to change that in April. But after that, it’s the big one! I will be reviewing the HAUS LABS TRICLONE SKIN TECH FOUNDATION – $81.00. I had intended to hold out this review for when Haus Labs was launching in Australia. But seeing as they weren’t at the Sephora Showcase last week. I figured I may as well just do it!
Speaking of Sephora, I’ll be giving the RARE BEAUTY LIQUID TOUCH BRIGHTENING CONCEALER – $39.00 a go this month. I’ve been planning a One Brand Recommendations on Rare Beauty for a while now. And I want to sneak in a few products from their line that I haven’t tried it this time.
Even though we are heading into winter, I still need my powders. For all over my face, I’ll be using the DIOR BACKSTAGE FACE & BODY POWDER-NO-POWDER – $79.00. This is one of the lightest powders that I own and love it. For under my eyes, I’ll be returning to a classic. The MAYBELLINE FIT ME LOOSE FINISHING POWDER – $21.99. There is a reason why I keep coming back to this. It’s because it’s damn good. Finally, to settle all those powders down, I’ll be testing out the RARE BEAUTY ALWAYS AN OPTIMIST 4 in 1 MIST – $27.00
I crave the summer warmth when it’s cold. So I need all of the bronzers. The two I pulled out are the CHANEL HEALTHY GLOW BRONZING CREAM – $91.00 and the GUCCI SOLEIL BRONZING POWDER – $120.00. Is this super bougie? Yes.
I’ve been drawn right back into the world of pink blush. And it was hard to limit myself to which two I wanted to focus on. So, I went with the RARE BEAUTY SOFT PINCH LIQUID BLUSH in HOPE – $39.00 and the PATRICK TA MAJOR HEADLINES DOUBLE TAKE CREME & POWDER BLUSH in SHE’S THAT GIRL – $55.00. I know, technically that’s three. But who said there was such thing as too much?
Again, as we head into winter, I crave all things glow. Which is why I went for liquid highlighters. The AURIC GLOW LUST RADIANT LUMINISER in SELENITE – $46.50USD is great for all over my face as well as just the high points. Whereas the MCOBEAUTY HIGHLIGHT & GLOW BEAUTY WAND in CHAMPAGNE GLOW – $29.00 is for a more targeted concentration of glow. And yes, I have called a truce on my McoBeauty Boycott. They have definitely improved their range in the last few years. Expect to see them pop up from time to time.
*Em’s Note from the future* Na, McoBeauty can get bent. They get nothing out of me.
Finally, we have my two mascaras. And it has to be the two most talked about mascaras of the moment. The MAC COSMETICS MACSTACK MASCARA – $54.00 has been one of the more polarizing mascara launches of the last year. And we all know the controversy surrounding the new LOREAL PARIS TELESCOPIC LIFT MASCARA – $31.99. I am so ready to give y’all my thoughts on these two.
And that is my edit for April and May! I’m super happy with my picks and I can’t wait to talk about them all in the future. Just a heads up. There will be no post on Friday as I will be taking the Easter weekend off. I will be back in action on Tuesday the 11th! Have a great week.
Cheers and love
Emily xo
