Pixi Beauty. The brand is synonymous with old school beauty YouTube. And many of their products are best sellers to this day (Glow Tonic absolutely springs to mind for me). But as much as I love their skincare, I do often forget that they carry a full range of makeup as well. So, when I was sent a few goodies in the mail at the beginning of the year, I was eager to give them a go. One of the products that caught my eye immediately was the Large Lash Mascara. I knew that I had to review it for science! I’ve spent the last few weeks putting it through it’s paces and I have thoughts. So, let’s get into the review!
PIXI BEAUTY LARGE LASH MASCARA – $25.00* – pixibeauty.com

Starting with the packaging, the Large Lash Mascara is housed in a pastel green, tube style packaging. There is gold chrome detail on the tubing. It’s simple, but you would know from just looking at it that it was a Pixi product. The Large Lash Mascara is cruelty free and contains 12ml of product.
When I first pulled the mascara out of the tube, I won’t lie, I was immediately put off by it. The wand is the precise kind that I hate. Very big, very fluffy, and because the bristles are so close together, they held onto a lot of product at first. I did have to clean it off so I was able to use it. I also wish that it tapered off more. I found the tip was a little too big for my eyes and it was difficult to reach my inner lashes.
On the topic of the formula, it’s quite moussey in consistency. But what surprised me was how quickly it dried down. Normally I find that mascaras that dry down quickly are more difficult to layer. But that wasn’t a problem with this one. I also liked how rich in black pigment it was. As far as lash protection goes, this one has the usual suspects. Bamboo Extract and Vitamin E for nourishment and moisture retention. And Panthenol for strength.
Upon first impressions, I have to say that this mascara didn’t do much for me. It made my lashes black and gave a little bit of lift. It was only when I was playing with it more and made the discovery that this is a mascara that benefits with multiple layers that I really saw some action. I got some serious volume and length once I started layering. But for a wand that is a big and chunky as it is I’m surprised that I got as much separation as I did.
Now it’s time for the wear test. And you could knock me over with a feather. I was so shocked at how well this mascara wore! I was wearing this one some days with 50% + humidity and it didn’t budge at all. And considering how many coats of this I had on, that was darn impressive. At worst, this mascara did droop a smidge throughout the day, But that’s as bad as it got.
All in all, I do give the Pixi Beauty Large Lash Mascara my recommendation. But it’s one that I probably wouldn’t repurchase. While it’s easily one of the best wearing mascara’s I’ve tried in a minute, the wand is the biggest put off. And for me, it’s something I can’t get past. If Pixi were to release a mascara with this formula and an hourglass style wand, I would buy it in a heartbeat. If you, however, love a big, fluffy wand. I say go for it! Have you tried the Pixi Beauty Large Lash Mascara? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love

Great review, the wear test is impressive for sure. I use to like big fluffy brushes but in recent years I have been using smaller thinner brushes, so I am unsure if I would like this one.
