The Perfect Palette Tag was one of my favourite trends from the old days of the beauty community. And I always wanted to do it myself. I just never owned enough palettes to be able to. But now I do and I’m bringing this Tag back!
BEST PACKAGING: Too Faced Chocolate Gold Palette
The chocolate series from Too Faced is known for their gorgeous packaging, but the Chocolate Gold is truly special. The metallic gold dripping down is so bougie and luxe. Sometimes, I pull this palette out just to look at the packaging!
BEST COLOUR PAYOFF: Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette
I was tempted to cheat here and put both this and the Modern Renaissance in this category because ABH shadows are out of this world pigmented. But if I were to also take ease of use into account, Soft Glam beats Modern Renaissance on that level.
MOST VERSATILE: Colourpop You Had Me At Hello Palette
This category I did think about for a minute because I had a lot of palettes that would suit this spot. The reason I ended up with the Colourpop palette is that it’s a palette that could be used by pretty much anyone. It has a great balance of warm, cool and neutral shades with matte and shimmer finishes.
BEST FOR TRAVEL: Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Palette
When it comes to travel, for me, size matters. And the Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes are just perfect. The actual pans are the same size as the pans in her larger palettes, but the actual palette is the size of my palm. The packaging is also very sleek, but not flimsy so it can take being jumbled around in a makeup bag. This is the palette I’m taking with me for my holiday.
BIGGEST REGRET: Morphe 35OS Palette
Ugh. I honestly think that I have swatched this palette more than I have actually used it on my eyes. And while there is one shade that I do like, that one shade doesn’t justify me owning this palette. It also doesn’t help that it’s an all shimmer palette. Some of the shades are more satin, but I don’t use anything other than mattes in my crease so I have to use other palettes with this one.
BEST COLOUR NAMES: Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette
Just call me a Southern Belle because I adore the names in this palette They are freaking adorable and they match the theme of the palette perfectly!
LEAST USED: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
My poor, neglected Naked 2. There are two reasons why I don’t use this palette anymore. One, I’m just not into cool shadows anymore. Two, this palette is now four years old and I don’t particularly want to put it on my eyes anymore. I keep it for nostalgia purposes.
MOST USED: Lorac Pro Palette
Before certain other palettes came into my life, this was ALL that I used on my eyes. How I haven’t hit pan on some of these shades is beyond me.
MOST LOVED/DESERT ISLAND: Huda Beauty Rose Gold Remastered Palette
I know that I just reviewed this palette. I don’t care. It’s easily the first palette I would replace if I were to lose all of my palettes and you will have to drag it from my cold, dead hands.
And that’s my perfect palette tag. If you read this, I tag you to do this!
Cheers and love
