Holy moly, y’all! We have officially made it to my tenth IG Made Me Buy It post. You are all very good at getting me to spend my money. I have five products that I’ve picked up recently that beloved by my favourite peeps. And for a little bit of extra fun, I’ll actually be ranking these from the products I like the least to most. Let’s get into it!
CHANEL CREAM GEL BRONZER – $91.00
RECOMMENDED BY – Basically everyone
The Chanel cream bronzer was always seen as THE cream bronzer to own. So many people raved about the formula and how natural it looked on the skin. So, when I was in Townsville last year, I noticed that it was the last one available. And I took that as fate! I had to have it.
MY THOUGHTS: So, I’ve had this one in my makeup edit for the last two months. And I’ve officially come to the conclusion that I just don’t like it. For me, it’s the shade being just a touch too warm for my liking and the fact that I feel like I have to use a lot of product to get anywhere with it. It also has a noticeable fragrance. Which doesn’t bother me. But I suspect that it will bother other people. Ultimately, I’ve tried other cream bronzers that I enjoy way more.
MAKEUP FOR EVER ARTIST COLOR PENCIL – $35.00
RECOMMENDED BY – Centaine McLean
I freaking love lip liner. I literally did a post last week talking about the lip liners that I loved. But it took me an embarrassingly long time to get around to trying the Artist Color Pencil’s from Makeup For Ever. All of my friends rave about them. Centaine especially. So, I picked up the shade Completely Sepia to give a go.
MY THOUGHTS: Ok, just for clarity sake. The Chanel bronzer is the only product that I can honestly say I don’t like. The rest are all good. But with this one, there is one minor quibble that I have. It’s not the formula that’s the issue. The formula is freaking fantastic! The right balance of creamy and firm. And like the Tower 28 pencils that I mentioned in last week’s post, these pencils are highly adaptable and can be used all over the face. My issue is that unlike a lot of the wooden pencil liners that I’ve used over the years, I can smell and taste the wood of the pencil on my lips. And it’s a little distracting for me. I know, it’s weird. But it’s quite strong and it lingers.
GLOW RECIPE AVOCADO CERAMIDE RECOVERY SERUM – $73.00
RECOMMENDED BY – Maddie Wall
My love of Glow Recipe is well documented on here. But that love was truly birthed by drooling all over Maddie’s instagram feed. The Avocado Ceramide Serum was one that I saw her mention frequently. So, when I found myself low on serums (which is rare for me), I added this to my cart.
MY THOUGHTS: Well, it’s pretty obvious from the sizable dent that I’ve put in this bottle that I like it. The Avocado Ceramide Serum has a ton of really great soothing ingredients in it that have been really helping my skin. I especially like this at night after I’ve blasted my face under the hot water (which I know I shouldn’t do. But still…). Gun to my head though, I would probably repurchase the Rebound Serum before I repurchased this. They both more or less do the same thing. But Rebound has a few additional benefits that my skin adores.
KAYALI LOVEFEST BURNING CHERRY 48 – $130.00 for 50ml
RECOMMENDED BY – Matt (Dirty Boys Get Clean)
I’ve mentioned in the past that Kayali has a blind buy guarantee with me. But I was initially apprehensive with this one. My experience with cherry scents isn’t great. A lot of them would either smell medicinal or straight up like booze. But when Matt from Dirty Boys Get Clean gave this one the tick of approval, I decided it pick it up.
MY THOUGHTS: Is this my favourite Kayali scent? No. But I liked it a lot more than I expected to. It definitely ranks in my top 3 out of my Kayali collection (and if you want to see that post, let me know). It’s a lot sweeter than I anticipated. And it also has that smokey funk to it. I love this as a date night perfume because it’s the right balance of fruity and sexy for me
TOWER 28 BEACH PLEASE LUMINOUS TINTED BALM – $31.33
RECOMMENDED BY – Morgan’s Skin Journal
If I’ve bought anything from Tower 28 as of late, Morgan is usually the reason why. She can just flash a product at the point and I’ll buy it. She has especially been vocal about her affection for the Beach Please balms. So, I had to get one! The shade I picked up was Golden Hour. A stunning, deep orange.
MY THOUGHTS: Good god, this is a slam dunk. The formula is so smooth and easy to work with. It also builds really easily without lifting your foundation. My favourite way to apply these is with my fingers. Just tapping them onto my cheeks. And they give a gorgeous flush of colour. With a touch of luminosity to boot! I do plan on buying more of these.
And that is all for today! What makeup or skincare have I convinced you to buy recently? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love

Instagram is so good for making us buy products! Such a shame about the Chanel bronzer, but at least you tried it. I am intrigued about the Glow recipe serum, I want to try more from that brand.
