Happy June and happy pride, everyone! In case you’re new here, the start of a new season means that it’s time for me to chat about the five standout products from the last few months. And let me tell you, it was harder than normal to narrow this down to five. As I discovered a whole heap of amazing products over the last few months. But for me, these five were the standouts. So, let’s get into it!
KAYALI YUM PISTACHIO GELATO – $143.00 for 50ml
In news that will surprise no one whatsoever, I’m obsessed with the newest launch from Kayali. So much so that Yum is currently competing with Eden for my number one position. I love it that much! It’s such a flirty and creamy scent. But it settles into an almost candy like finish. And like all of the intense perfumes in Kayali’s range, the scent lasts for ages on the skin. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But I love it.
GLOW RECIPE AVOCADO CERAMIDE MOISTURE BARRIER CLEANSER – $28.00USD
I feel a little bad including this one. Because at the time of writing, this hasn’t launched in Australia yet. I actually got this mail forwarded to me because I was so tempted by it. And it was 100% worth the effort and wait because this is one of the best hydrating cleansers that I’ve tried in a long time! There is no tight or stripped feeling with this cleanser. It leaves my skin feeling bouncy and clean. And it works well as both a first or second cleanse. I definitely want to grab this again when I run out. And I also hope that Mecca stocks it soon!
HAUS LABS POWER SCULPT VELVET BRONZER – $71.00
I mentioned in my Bite Size Review post that this was the bronzer that overtook the Fenty Sun Stalk’r as my favourite powder bronzer. I stand by those words. I’ve continued to use this bronzer even after I took it out of my stash for the month because I love it that much. It’s the perfect shade for me (I’m shade Light 4). And it’s so freaking easy to blend out. I know that Haus Labs still isn’t available in Australia. But this is well worth the wait.
TOM FORD FORBIDDEN PINK EYESHADOW QUAD – Discontinued
I can’t decide what makes me a bigger asshole. Recommending a limited edition eyeshadow quad from a luxury brand that has since sold out. Or recommending a single shade from a limited edition eyeshadow quad from a luxury brand that has since sold out. But yeah, if you saw me wearing makeup at all over the last 6 or so weeks, chances are I was wearing that taupey shimmer all over my lid. And it is everything I could possibly want in an eyeshadow. The rest of the quad is actually great (the plum shade in the bottom right is fantastic). But that taupe is literal perfection. I am desperately trying to dupe it and nothing has come close. And yes, sadly, this has sold out online. But you might be able to find it in store.
TOWER 28 JUICE BALM TINTED LIP BALM in MIX – $27.08
Man, Tower 28 has really been knocking it out of the park with their launches. The Juice Balm’s launched back in January. And I’ve been wearing the heck out of the two that I own ever since I picked them up. They just slide right onto the lips. And they offer just the sheerest touch of colour. All the while adding nourishment to the lips. Now, I mention that I owned two of them. They’re both fantastic. But Mix (pictured above) is the shade that I’ve been gravitating towards more often. These are available from Revolve and the shipping is really great from them.
So, that’s a wrap on my beauty faves. Let’s chat about my other faves for the last few weeks.
SUCCESSION (Foxtel) – The fourth and final season of Succession just wrapped this week. And while I won’t spoil any of the details, all I’ll say is that Jesse Armstrong and Co are going to will all of the drama Emmy’s. Like, all of them. That final season was a masterpiece and I’m still kinda floored that they nailed that finale. It all just worked for me. I will miss this show dearly.
BILLSON’S – Truth be told, I’m not much of a drinker. But I’ve recently fallen in love with the vodka range from Billson’s. They have quickly become my Saturday night drink of choice. And I love that there is a huge range of flavours to choose from. My faves so far from the ones that I’ve tried are Fruit Tangle, Zesty Lemon, and Tropical Punch. Dennis also enjoys the Creaming Soda one. I can’t wait to try more flavours.
And I’m probably going to wrap it up here. What products were y’all loving during the autumn months? Let me know in the comments below. I hope you all have a great weekend and an amazing winter!
Cheers and love
Emily xo
