Emmie’s Empties – June 2023

My lords, ladies, and those who lie betwixt. It is time, once again, to gather round as I discuss what products I used up in the month of June. We shall be discussing the good, the bad, and the mediocre. Let’s get into it!

BIODERMA SENSIBIO MICELLAR WATER – $32.99
A god tier fave. I’ve legitimately lost count of how many I’ve used over the years. I’m using a different micellar water right now. But I shall have this back in my hands soon.

NATURIUM BHA LIQUID EXFOLIANT 2% – $39.95*
This was ok, I guess. I’m not sure that it did that much for me, to be honest. I am now intrigued to try the liquid exfoliant from Paula’s Choice though. Because I’ve heard that one is amazing!

CAUDALIE INSTANT DETOX MASK – $48.00
I picked this up back when it was going TikTok viral. And I never really mentioned it on here because I’m not entirely sure why it was as hyped up as it was. It’s a good mask. But I don’t think that I’ll grab it again.

LANOLIPS ALL OVER EVERYWHERE MULTI CREAM – $18.99*
Was this wildly out of date by the time I finished it? Yes. Check your use by dates, y’all! Still an amazing, all over body cream.

SUMMER FRIDAYS JET LAG MASK – $79.00
I’m 99% sure this is the reformulated version. And I have to say that I liked it a lot. Very nourishing and it left my skin feeling super bouncy. This is one that I would pick up again.

PIXI VITAMIN C SERUM – $38.00*
Again, this was pretty mid. I was fairly consistent with this one. But I never noticed any real difference in my skin. I’m using one from The Inkey List that I like a lot better.

GO TO FACE HERO – $45.00
A hero in every sense of the word. As soon as I run out of oils, I’ll be picking this up again

REVOLUTION SKINCARE MULTI ACID PEELING SOLUTION – $16.00
This is meant to be the dupe for The Ordinary’s Multi Acid Peel. And the fact that I can’t buy that one and can still buy this one should tell you everything you need to know. This was trash.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY MAGIC EYE RESCUE – $80.00 for 15ml
I feel like this is an unpopular opinion. But I do enjoy Charlotte Tilbury’s skincare. It’s fragranced to high heaven. But I do enjoy using it. Having said that, this is one of those products where I’d prefer to have a billion samples rather than buy it.

DR LEWINN’S ULTRA R4 COLLAGEN SURGE PLUMPING GEL – $74.99*
I liked this so much more than I expected to. First of all, the texture was so wicked. It was a bunch of moisturising little balls that burst as soon as you rub them into the skin. And my skin felt amazing after using this. I’m not in a huge hurry for a new moisturiser. But I certainly wouldn’t kick this out of bed.

SOL DE JANERIO BRAZILIAN BUM BUM CREAM – $35.00
I mean? It’s the Bum Bum Experience! I’m sad to be out of it because Holy Moly! It’s so expensive now.

MAYBELLINE THE FALSIES LASH LIFT MASCARA – $25.99
My favourite drugstore mascara, period. Lifts, volumises, lengthens. It’s a phenomenal mascara.

MECCA MAX WHIP LASH TUBING MASCARA – $25.00
My favourite tubing mascara, period. Lengthens, separates, and it gives the most gorgeous flirty effect. I refuse to be without this one.
