Well folks, winter is well and truly over here in the great north west. And as the seasons change, so does my makeup stash. Most of my choices for this month are the other products that didn’t get picked in my poll from June. With a few fun cheek products in the mix too! Let’s get into it.
The temperature might be warming up, but we are still getting the occasional cool day here and there. So I want to make sure that my skin is plumped and hydrated at all times. Which is why I’ve gone for the CHARLOTTE TILBURY CHARLOTTE’S MAGIC CREAM – $149.00 and the LANEIGE GLOWY MAKEUP SERUM – $40.00 as my primers. The Magic Cream is a long time fave. But the Glowy Makeup Serum is one that I’ve had for a while and have just never used. So, I shall be changing that.
Next up are the foundation. And both of these I’m super excited about. I have the TOWER 28 SUNNYDAYS TINTED SPF – $53.80 and the RARE BEAUTY POSITIVE LIGHT TINTED MOISTURISER – $52.00 to play with. As you can see, I’ve already started on the Tower 28. I shall endeavour to get these reviews up soon!
Concealer next. And we have the two other picks from my June poll. Those being the URBAN DECAY QUICKIE CONCEALER – $49.00 and the MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY ACTIVEWEAR CONCEALER – $24.99. Both of these are touted as being long wear and high coverage. I’m very ready to put them both to the test.
I always want to have a powder at had, no matter what I do. And the MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY 24hr POWDER FOUNDATION – $29.99 has been raved about online. I also have a finishing powder that I want to use for under my eyes. That being the MODELS PREFER PROFESSIONAL MINERAL FINISHING VEIL – discontinued. Finally, for the base, we have the AUSTRALIS FRESH & FLAWLESS MAKEUP FINISHING SPRITZ – $19.95. I haven’t tried that many drugstore setting sprays. But many of my friends rate this one.
We’ll chat about eyes next. Would you believe that these are the last two mascara’s that I have in my review pile?! I know, I’m shocked too. I’ll be reviewing the ELF COSMETICS LASH ‘N ROLL MASCARA – $18.00 and the ESSENCE DOUBLE TROUBLE MASCARA – $8.50*. Both of these are super affordable and I’m excited to play with them.
For the brows, I’m whipping out a classic. The ULTA3 SHAKE & SHAPE BROW STYLER – $9.50*. This nifty little two in one product contains a brow pencil and a brow powder. And I haven’t used it in a minute. So I’m curious to see if I still like it.
Now we are heading into the cheek products. And this is kind of a bumper round as I have so many products that I want to try. Starting with bronzer, we have the TOWER 28 SCULPTINO SOFT CONTOUR CREAM in GETTY – $33.62 and the ROSE INC SOLAR INFUSION SOFT FOCUS CRAM BRONZER in KAUAI – $58.00. Both of these are similar in tone, but the formulations couldn’t be any more different.
I went a little ham on the blushes this time. I mean, look at how gorgeous they are? I couldn’t resist. I have the TOWER 28 BEACH PLEASE LUMINOUS TINTED BALM in OFFICE HOURS – $33.62 and the DIOR ROSY GLOW BLUSH in ROSEWOOD – $72.00 that I desperately want to pair together. They would suit each other so well! I also have the ELF COSMETICS PUTTY BLUSH in BAHAMAS – $16.00 for when I want something a bit more punchy and warm.
And finally, we have some highlighters to wrap this up. I’m finally going to play with the ELF COSMETICS HALO GLOW LIQUID FILTER – $35.00 for an all over glow. And I also have the CHARLOTTE TILBURY HOLLYWOOD GLOW HIGHLIGHTER in PILLOW TALK – $69.00 for the high points of my face.
And that is what I’ll be testing out over the next 8 weeks. As always, let me know in the comments what you would like me to talk about in a future Bite Size Reviews. And also, please give me your mascara recommendations. I have some shopping to do this month!
Cheers and love
Emily xo
