Well folks, we are back at it with my Essence mascara journey. Those who have been following along will know that I’ve been sent quite a few Essence mascara’s in PR. And I’ve been testing them out to find the good, the bad, and the smudgy. My most recent pick (which was actually chosen by y’all) was the Sensitive BUT WOW Mascara. Which I believe to be a more recent launch from Essence. I’ve spent the last few weeks playing with it and I have thoughts. So, let’s talk about it!

I have to say, I really like the packaging of the Sensitive But Wow Mascara. It’s a teal blue tube, with white and purple detail. There are also cute little purple lash emoji’s all over the tube.Which I think is a nice touch. The Sensitive But Wow Mascara is vegan, cruelty free, and contains 8.5ml of product.
After a string of weird and large wands, it gives me so much joy to say that the wand of the Sensitive But Wow Mascara is a standard, boring, straight wand that tapers at the tip. It reminds me a little bit of the Maybelline Great Lash wand. But I think this one is a little bigger. Importantly for me, though, this wand was so freaking easy to use. I was able to reach all of my lashes with ease.
The formula of the Sensitive But Wow Mascara has a few noteworthy things about it. As the name suggests, this formula has been specifically designed for those who have sensitive eyes. It also contains Calendula and Chamomile Blossom Water. Both are supposed to be good for lash health. The consistency is on the thicker side, but the brush combs it out pretty well. It also applies glossy, but settles into more of a matte finish.
Applying the Sensitive But Wow Mascara was pretty easy. Like a lot of the mascaras that I’ve tried from Essence, I did have to build it up a lot. But this one fortunately layered really well. Volume was the name of the game with this mascara. Not in a dramatic way, but it was noticeable. I also loved how well it separated my lashes. Which was surprising because this formula is on the thicker side. My sole bugbear was that I didn’t get a lot of length off this mascara no matter how much I layered it. But overall, I liked it.
Which brings up to the wear test. And y’all, I think we finally did it! I think I finally found an Essence mascara that looks as good at 5pm as it does at 8am. I noticed very little change in my lashes throughout the day. They held their lift. I also had no transfer and no smudging really at all! I’m absolutely gobsmacked.
Well, it looks like I can keep this bit short and sweet. The Essence Sensitive But Wow Mascara gets an enthusiastic thumbs up from me. And I definitely recommend you give it a go. For a simple day to day mascara that’s less than $10? I really don’t think you can go wrong. Have you tried the Essence Sensitive But Wow Mascara? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love
