Emmie’s Empties – September 2023

Happy October everyone! The spooky season is well underway. Though if we are being real here, the only scary thing going on here is how little products I used up last month. That’s right, September was a quiet month on the empties front. But we still have to chat about what I used up. Let’s get into it!

CHARLOTTE TILBURY AIRBRUSH FLAWLESS FINISH POWDER – $73.00
Without question, the best pressed powder I have ever used. It sets my makeup with ease and leaves my base so flawless. When I do repurchase this, I’ll pick up shade 1. This was shade 2 and it’s a touch too dark for me now.

PIXI BY PETRA LARGE LASH MASCARA – $25.00*
An excellent mascara for volume and length. But I need the wand’s circumference to be like a milimetre or two smaller.

SKIN CONTROL AM+PM PIMPLE PATCHES – $8.99
Still my favourite patches. I’m pretty sure this is the fifth pack that I’ve gone through. And I especially love that these are now available in more places. Having said that, I do want to try something different. Let me know your favourite pimple patches in the comments.

GLOW RECIPE AVOCADO CERAMIDE RECOVERY SERUM – $72.00
Lovely. Genuinely lovely. So soothing on the skin. I would definitely repurchase.

BARNI SKIN DEW NOT DISTURB MOISTURISER – $54.00*
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It has a water gel style texture that I kept expecting to pill on me. But it never did. Also, it smells amazing. Truly like a tropical vacay. I am curious to see how receptive my skin is to this during the summer months. So, I guess I have to grab it soon.

GUINOT BEAUTY CLEANSING MILK TRAVEL SIZE – $35.20*
This was fine. Nothing all that special. Did an ok job with sunscreen but nothing with my mascara.

ULTRA VIOLETTE LEAN SCREEN MINERAL MATTIFYING SKINSCREEN – $52.00
*TGA Declaration – Purchased myself* I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I just don’t like mineral sunscreens. In winter, I find them to be too drying. And in summer, I feel like they are melting off my face. I’ll use up the ones I have left (this one is well past expired). But I’ll be sticking to what works for me.

GUNK OFF MELTING BALM CLEANER – $55.00*
Amy and the team at Gunk Off, you’re all freaking geniuses. My only regret is not saving this for my future holidays. This would be perfect for travel. Guess I have to buy a new one.

HOLIFROG SHASTA AHA ACID WASH – $58.00
My final favourite for this post. This is still the best exfoliating cleanser that I’ve ever used. As soon as I’m down to one cleanser, I’ll be picking this up.
