Well then. This is a post that y’all have been begging me to do for the better part of forever! But today, I am finally doing a ranking of my Kayali Fragrance collection. And you bet your butts this is one of the hardest posts that I’ve ever had to write. Because lord knows that I love every single Kayali fragrance in my collection. Kayali has been my favourite fragrance brand for years and coincidentally , they are celebrating their 5th anniversary this week. So, it’s the perfect time to spread a little love to them. Let’s get into the ranking!
KAYALI CITRUS 08 EAU DE PARFUM – $123.00 for 50ml
NOTES – Top: Pink Grapefruit, Rhubarb, Bergamot, Blackcurrant, Pink Pepper. Middle: Bulgarian Rose, Damask Rose. Base: Oakmoss, Musk, Tonka Bean.
In 9th place, we have Citrus. And out of my whole collection, this is the only one that I kinda, sorta, maybe regret buying. Now, don’t get it twisted, this is a stunning perfume. But on me, this is a stunning rose heavy perfume with just a wisp of citrus. I had actually purchased this with the hope that the top citrus notes would win out. But unfortunately, it’s so floral forward and that’s just not what I want in a citrus perfume. I do hope in the future that Kayali brings out something with with more of a lemon or even a yuzu note. That would be beautiful.
KAYALI VANILLA ROYALE SUGARED PATCHOULI 64 EAU DE PARFUM INTENSE – $40.00 for 10ml
NOTES – Top: Rum, Vanilla Orchid, Jasmine. Middle: Vanilla, Creme Brulee, Spicy Notes, Leather, Tonka Bean, Rose. Base: Patchouli, Brown Sugar, Agarwood (Oud), Sugar, Amber, Musk.
I debated for a while as to whether I put this in 9th or 8th place. My reasoning for it’s position is that this fragrance does exactly what it says on the label. It’s vanilla and it’s intense! I can only use this sparingly because the scent of this one lasts for ages on whatever you spray it on. I spritzed this on a sweater during winter. I can still faintly smell it after multiple washes. And that was 4 months ago. Also, that top rum note can hit wrong with me from time to time. This is definitely a perfume that I need to be in the right mood to wear.
KAYALI THE WEDDING VELVET SANTAL 35 – $40.00 for 10ml
NOTES – Top: Tea, Jasmine. Middle: White Musk, Cedarwood. Base: Sandalwood, Benzoin.
Now, this one was marketed as part of a duo (and I’ll get to the other half shortly). Velvet Santal is Kaylai’s first dip into cologne territory. And I hope they do more because this is quite lovely. It’s on the less intense side. Almost earthy in a way. And it pairs wonderfully with quite a few of the perfumes in the Kayali line.
KAYALI SWEET DIAMOND PINK PEPPER 25 EAU DE PARFUM INTENSE – $143.00 for 50ml
NOTES – Top: Pink Pepper, Saffron, Bergamot, Royal Lily. Middle: Bulgarian Rose, May Rose, Vanilla Orchid, Magnolia. Base: Amber, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Musk.
Ok, so on paper, I know that I shouldn’t like this perfume. We both see the rose notes. This shouldn’t work. And yet, it does! It’s the saffron and the pink pepper that make this perfume for me. I love the warmth and spice that it gives. And once it’s settled, The amber really shines through. This was actually my first Kayali fragrance. So it’ll always have a special place in my heart.
KAYALI LOVEFEST BURNING CHERRY 48 EAU DE PARFUM – $123.00 for 50ml
NOTES – Top: Burning Cherry, Raspberry, Bergamot. Middle: Praline, Heliotrope, Damask Rose, Jasmine Sambac. Base: Palo Santo, Tonka Bean, Guaiac Wood, Ambrettolide, Peru Balsam, Patchouli, Haitian Vetiver.
Now we are getting into the tough placements. And it killed me to put Lovefest at 5. Because once upon a time, this could have easily been top 2 or 3. The truth is, I have recently discovered a cherry based fragrance that I enjoy a little bit more than this one. But that isn’t to say that this isn’t worth your time. It definitely is. I love how warm and inviting this is. It’s the closest that I’ve ever come to liking a woody perfume. If Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry isn’t your scene, I highly recommend Lovefest.
KAYALI THE WEDDING SILK SANTAL 36 EAU DE PARFUM – $143.00 for 50ml
NOTES – Top: Champagne, Freesia, Blackcurrant. Middle: Nectarine, Praline, Jasmine, Orange Blossom, May Rose. Base: Vanilla, Sugar, Musk, Sandalwood, Amberwood, Oakmoss.
I shouldn’t be putting this at 4. This was part of a limited edition collection. It’s long since sold out. And yet, I cannot bring myself to stop wearing it! Fruity fragrances are my go to (as you will soon find out). And Silk Santal is unlike any fruity fragrance that I’ve ever smelled before. It’s so light and bubbly. I adore the Nectarine note (please write in the comments your favourite nectarine fragrances). But it has the sweetness of the vanilla, sugar, and musk. If you can find this anywhere, I insist you smell it.
KAYALI VANILLA 28 EAU DE PARFUM – $123.00 for 50ml
NOTES – Top: Vanilla Orchid, Jasmine. Middle: Brown Sugar, Tonka Bean. Base: Amber, Amberwood, Musk, Patchouli.
I’ll keep this short. This is the vanilla fragrance to which all other vanilla fragrances are judged. Mona nailed it with this one. It’s warm, syrupy goodness. And if you still haven’t tried it, I can’t help you.
KAYALI EDEN JUICY APPLE 01 EAU DE PARFUM – $172.00 for 100ml
NOTES – Top: Apple, Litchi, Blackcurrant, Pink Grapefruit. Middle: Wild Berries, Raspberry Bloom, Jasmine, May Rose. Base: Sugar, Musk, Vanilla Flower, Amber, Moss.
Listen, I am a basic bitch at heart. And my basic ass adores smelling like a fruit Roll Up. Which is what Eden is at it’s core. It’s a fruit salad Roll Up, squeezed int a perfume bottle. It is drinks at 11am on Christmas Day (Aussie Christmas, of course). It is sweet, juicy, and everything that I could possibly want in a fruity fragrance. Thank you Adore Beauty for accidentally sending me the 100ml. Because I never want to be without this.
KAYALI YUM PISTACHIO GELATO 33 EAU DE PARFUM INTENSE – $143.00 for 50ml
NOTES – Top: Pistachio, Bergamot, Ice Cream, Hazelnut, Rum, Cardamon. Middle: Lily Of The Valley, Peony, Pear, Jasmine, Geranium, White Peach, Raspberry. Base: Whipped Cream, Marshmallow, Cotton Candy, Turkish Delight, Tonka Bean, Sandalwood, Cedar, Cacao
But let’s be real, the split second you opened this post, you knew that Yum would be number 1. I mean, Yum? One? It just works. This might be the best fragrance that Kayali has ever made. I’m actually doubtful that anything will top this for me. Yum is a fragrance that I could easily wear everyday and not get tired of it (my mum, on the other hand, would have a few things to say. She isn’t as wild about this one as I am). But it’s creamy, dreamy, sweet, sugary heaven. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
And I am done! Phew, this was a long one. I might continue this as I add to my collection. So stay tuned for that. Have you tried any Kayali Fragrances? Let me know what your faves are in the comments.
Cheers and love

I just bought a mini trio in their Black Friday sale and I ummed and ahhhed about it for so long – so glad I bought it now! It has Lovefest, Eden and Vanilla which I think will all suit my sweet/smell like a dessert tastes just fine! 😍
