Well folks, we are officially one day out from my holiday. I am so excited, I could cry. Fun fact, outside of trips to Townsville to visit family, this is my first holiday since before I got engaged (Dennis proposed night one of our Brisbane trip back in 2019). So, it’s time to ask the all important question. What makeup do I plan on taking with me? Well, considering that this is my first holiday in four years and my makeup collection has grown considerably since then, that was a hard question.
For the planning, I decided to be strategic. The weather in Sydney is cooler than here. But there is also rain forecast basically everyday. So, I went with products that I knew I could rely on. I chose predominately cream products that I can slap on with minimal effort. And a loose powder and setting spray combo that should keep everything intact. Let’s look at what I chose.
Jumping right into the base products, you will see that I skipped out on primer altogether. I’ll be using my sunscreen as my primer just to save on space. Plus, it kills two birds with one stone. For foundation, I picked the TOWER 28 SUNNYDAYS TINTED SUNSCREEN – $54.82. I have a full review of this on the blog. Its a great one. I went with the TOWER 28 SWIPE CONCEALER – $37.69. Extremely reliable for under the eyes and all over the face. Also, I can wear this on it’s own without the skin tint.
To set everything down, I chose the HUDA BEAUTY EASY BAKE LOOSE POWDER – $56.00. This powder is an icon for a reason. Finally, I found a mini URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER SETTING SPRAY- $62.00 for 118ml in my sample collection. It’s the perfect size for travel and I know this stuff works.
I had the hardest time with choosing my cheek products. I was going to take a face palette with me. But I didn’t want to risk it breaking in transit. So, I stuck with creams. For bronzer, I picked the EM COSMETICS SOFT SCULPT MULTI FACEPLAY BRONZE + SCULPT in TERRA – $47.00 and for blush I chose the TOWER 28 BEACH PLEASE TINTED BALM in OFFICE HOURS – $34.26. Both of these are my go to’s for my more simple and fresh makeup looks.
Time for the eyes. I’ve been loving just using a brow gel to fill things in. So, naturally, I had to pick the GLOSSIER BOY BROW in BROWN – $34.00. I mean, I finally own it after a decade of wanting it. Plus, this is a sneak peek for my stash next month. For the rest of my eyes, it’s all Rare Beauty. I have the RARE BEAUTY ALL OF THE ABOVE WEIGHTLESS SHADOW STICK in WELL BEING and CONTENTMENT – $39.00 and the RARE BEAUTY PERFECT STOKES MASCARA – $20.00. I have the shadow sticks in my current stash and I want to give them more of a go before I make up my mind on them. The mascara is just a good mascara.
Lastly, we have lip products. And this might be the least amount of lippies that I’ve ever taken on a trip. I have the GISOU HONEY INFUSED LIP OIL – $45.00, the TOWER 28 LIP JELLY in CHILL – $27.41, and the GLOSSIER ULTRALIP in PONY – $34.00. Not pictured is the SUMMER FRIDAYS LIP BUTTER BALM in ICED COFFEE – Limited Edition as that has a permanent residence in my handbag.
And that’s what I’ll be taking with me to Sydney! I plan on still having posts go up on Friday and next Tuesday (I come home Monday night). So stay tuned for those. But for now, I have a suitcase to pack!
Cheers and love
