Emmie’s Empties – November 2023

Posted on December 1, 2023November 30, 2023 by emmiesbeautylifeadmin

Well then, November certainly dragged on a bit too long, didn’t it? In any case, it’s a new month and I have empties to chat about. I do want to point out that I also used up a Queen Screen from Ultra Violette. But I recycled that in exchange for a Fave Screen at a UV event in Sydney. So, stay tuned for my thoughts on that. Let’s get into the rest of the stuff I used up. Which is a lot.

*Em’s Note* – Some of the products featured were sent in PR. All have been marked with an asterisk.

ORIBE SHAMPOO FOR BEAUTIFUL COLOUR – $76.00 for 250ml AND ORIBE CONDITIONER FOR BEAUTIFUL COLOUR – $80.00 for 200ml
This was the hair care I took with me to Sydney. And it did the job, I guess. Way to pricey for me to consider buying the full size though.

FRANK BODY ORIGINAL COFFEE SCRUB – $20.00 for 200g
Yes, I took a body scrub with me. And this ended up being super necessary because the weather in Sydney was gross. I got a single use out of it. I know some people think Frank’s Body Scrubs are a waste of money. But I do enjoy them.

SUMMER FRIDAYS JET LAG MASK – $79.00 for 64g
Used this on the first night in Sydney. My skin definitely needed it. I would repurchase this in a heartbeat.

COLOURPOP NO FILTER PRESSED POWDER – Discontinued
I’m so embarrassed to admit just how long this was sitting empty in my handbag. It was a fine powder but a) it’s long since discontinued. And b) I stopped fucking with Colourpop when they decided to collaborate with a known transphobe’s IP. So, fuck them.

ANIHANA SHOWER STEAMER – $5.00
I may have picked up a gross hitchhiker after my trip. And let me tell you, this was very much needed. They are half off this week, so I might get my mum to pick me up a few more just to have.

MAC FIX + WATERMELON – Discontinued
Another empty from the handbag chronicles. Loved using this when my makeup was feeling a little blargh.

AVENE XERACALM A.D. LIPID REPLENISHING BALM – $44.99 for 400ml
I don’t know if this is meant to be in the same vein as the Cicaplast Baume. But I wasn’t wild about the consistency of this. Bit too slippery and it took a while to fully soak in (which might be the point of it)

DR DENNIS GROSS VITAMIN C + LACTIC 15% VITAMIN C FIRM & BRIGHT SERUM – $139.00 for 30ml
This 100% oxidised before I got a chance to use it. I know this because when I saw how dark it was in the bottle, I went to Mecca and sure enough, it’s supposed to be way lighter. I’m still intrigued enough to try it properly. But I already have a Vitamin C in my bathroom.

QV FACE GENTLE CLEANSER – $14.99 for 250g
You know what? This was lovely! I would totally pick up a full size next winter.

THE INKEY LIST RETINOL EYE CREAM – $21.00*
Pretty sure this formula has separated and gone bad. A shame though because it’s a banger of an eye cream.

ULTRA VIOLETTE EXTREME SCREEN BODY + HAND SKINSCREEN – $15.00
*TGA Declaration – Purchased myself* I really need to get better at cleaning my handbag. Because this has been empty for a while! Good hand cream though.

L’OREAL REVITALIFT CLINICAL 12% VITAMIN C SERUM – $59.99*
I featured this in my Spring favourites. It’s legit amazing! If you’re in the market for a semi affordable vitamin c serum, this goes on special all the time at Woolies and Coles.

TOWER 28 SOS DAILY RESCUE FACIAL SPRAY – $20.12
This will be in my end of year favourites. It’s up there with the SDSM in terms of how much I love it.

LA ROCHE POSAY CICAPLAST BAUME B5 – Discontinued
Another one from the Spring faves. Loved this for my scratches. This formula has been discontinued but I have repurchased the B5+.

PIXI BOTANICAL COLLAGEN EYE SERUM – $42.00*
Very light and lovely. A true serum formula. Probably wouldn’t rush out and buy it but if it was sent to me, I wouldn’t kick it out of bed.

KOSAS PLUMP + JUICY VEGAN COLLAGEN SPRAY ON SERUM – $77.00
Another fantastic mist! It’s pricey, but I loved how plump it left my skin feeling.

DAISO PUFF SPONGE DETERGENT – unknown
Ok, so this one is interesting. I am now officially down to my last bottle. And I had hoped to buy some more in Sydney. I went to a few and the conflicting information I got was mind boggling. Some told me it was just out of stock, one person told me it was discontinued completely. Which I know isn’t true. I was a mess. I can buy a case from Amazon, which I might just do.

CANCER COUNCIL FACE DAY WEAR SERUM SPF 50+ – $23.00*
*TGA Declaration – Sent In PR* SPF 50+. Lightweight, serum consistency. Leaves a dewy finish on the skin.

And that is a wrap on my empties! I hope you enjoyed this bumper edition. You gotta love traveling! I hope you all have an amazing weekend and I will catch ya on Tuesday.

Cheers and love
Emily xo
