I’m back from my trip!
I had an absolutely incredible time in Sydney (save the horrendous weather and the gross, snotty hitchhiker that came back with me). I saw the sights, I finally met one of my best friends, and I spent probably way more than I should have on makeup and other things that are pretty. I hit up Sephora (who was doing a Black Friday sale), Priceline (who’s sale ended the day I landed), and Mecca (who never does sales anyway). Let’s get into everything that I got.
I’ll start with Mecca first because that’s probably where I spent the most amount of money. On the Thursday, I got one of the Mecca facials from the George St Mecca (which I highly recommend, very informative). And that netted me a $120 redeemable gift voucher to spend on top of it. So, instead of picking up any of the skincare that was used on me, I grabbed the KOSAS UNDRESSED EYESHADOW PALETTE – $64.00 and the VIOLETTE_FR BISOU BALM in CALISSION – $45.00. I’ve had my eye on the Kosas palette since it launched and Violette_FR has been all over my Instagram feed.
From the Mecca at Westfield Bondi, I picked up the HOURGLASS VEIL HYDRATING SKIN TINT – $79.00. I’m so so when it comes to Hourglass’s tinted products but I’ve seen a ton of positive buzz on this. I grabbed the ELLIS BROOKLYN SUPER AMBER EDP – $173.00 as my first holiday fragrance. I’m having a real amber moment and this smells so unique. Finally, as a spur of the moment thing, I finally got the NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION – $75.00 when I was at the Brisbane Airport Mecca. This is the only Nars foundation that I haven’t tried yet and I’m so excited to finally see if it’s worth the years of hype.
Next up, Sephora! And wouldn’t you know, the weekend I was there, they were doing up to 20% off. How’s that for timing? I went to the Sephora in Westfield Bondi with my good friend Lara (@rivetlicker on Instagram) and grabbed a few things. Firstly, the K18 LEAVE IN MOLECULAR REPAIR HAIR MASK – $99.00. This is something that I’ve wanted to try for years. And seeing as it’s now summer and my hair takes a beating during this time of year, it’s the perfect time to try. I also grabbed the FENTY BEAUTY GLOSS BOMB CRYSTAL HOLOGRAPHIC LIP LUMINIZER – $39.00 as a spur of the moment thing. Good thing too. Because it’s kinda blown up on TikTok and it’s sold out on the Sephora website.
Also at the Westfield Bondi, Ultra Violette was having a recycling event where you could trade in your empty Ultra Violette Skinscreen for a full sized bottle of the ULTRA VIOLETTE FAVE FLUID ULTRALIGHT SKINSCREEN. So, I naturally had to do that. Yes, that does mean that I carted an empty bottle of Queen Screen all the way from Mount Isa to Sydney. Now, for legal reasons, I’m not sure if I’m able to talk about my thoughts on this one. But if I repurchase it in the future, you know that I like it.
From the Pitt St Sephora, I grabbed a few more goodies. I picked up another fragrance. THE 7 VIRTUES CHERRY AMBITION EDP – $39.00 for 10ml. I’m still very much on my cherry fragrance kick and this is so very much up my alley. It’s sweet and slightly floral. Very different to the other cherry perfumes in my collection. Speaking of smelling good, I grabbed the FENTY SKIN BUTTA DROP SHIMMERING WHIPPED OIL BODY CREAM – $69.00. And I am being 100% serious when I say if there is one thing from this haul that you should by, it’s this. I used it last night and I smelled like a freaking snickerdoodle. Heavenly. Lastly, I grabbed two of the MILK MAKEUP ODESSEY LIP OIL GLOSSES – $45.00. I picked up the shades Quest (milky beige) and Globetrot (shimmery blue). I’ve seen a ton of great reviews about these online and you know I can’t resist a good gloss.
Lastly, we have Priceline. Didn’t come across that many Priceline’s in my travels. But I was also still salty that they did their Black Friday sale a week before I got there. I did pick up a couple of things. I got my hands on one of the NYX COSMETICS FAT OIL LIP DRIP – $19.99. The shade is Follow Back and it’s the most gorgeous coppery shimmer. I picked up another EVERYDAY BY FRANK BODY BODY WASH – $13.99. This will be my fourth bottle and I went with the Nourishing one this time. And from Australis, I grabbed the AUSTRALIS MAKING WAVES EYESHADOW PALETTE – $21.95 and the AUSTRALIS DEWY + DARING CREAM BLUSH in PIXIE DREAM GIRL – $15.95. These are some of the newer shades and I can’t wait to use them.
And that is a wrap on my Sydney haul. I do have a few things that I ordered when I got home from Black Friday Sales, but I didn’t want to wait to put this up. As always, if you spot something that you like, let me know and I’ll definitely review it. And of course, let me know what you picked up on Black Friday in the comments.
Cheers and love
