At long last, we have reached the fourth and final part of my Best In Beauty Series. Today’s topic? Body and haircare! Now, in previous years, I’ve usually included these two in with my skincare faves. But this was a particularly stellar year for both categories. And I had more than enough favourites this time to give them their own post. So, what were my faves? Let’s get into it!
I’ll start with some of my shower faves. And if you think there is a lot of Frank Body in this round up, that’s because there is. Frank Body had a stellar 2023. I’ve especially loved their new Everyday By Frank Body range that launched midway through the year. The standout being the EVERYDAY BY FRANK BODY CLEARING BODY WASH. I bought two of these in 2023 and I have a third waiting for me in the cupboard. This has Salicylic Acid to help gently exfoliate and clear up my body acne.
Speaking of multiple purchases, I went through two tubs of the FRANK BODY GLYCOLIC BODY SCRUB in 2023. And this might be in my top five products of the whole year. This was fantastic on not only my KP, but it went a long way to help heal some of the scratches and wounds that I have on my arms. I am currently out of this, so Frank? Wanna hook a sister up?
Next up were my winter saviours. These three products were the only reason why I didn’t look like a scaly mess during the middle of last year. After my shower, I would load up on the FRANK BODY HYALURONIC ACID BODY SERUM to give my skin a serious boost of hydration. When that had soaked in, I would go in with the GLOW RECIPE WATERMELON GLOW PINK DRINK BODY CREAM. This body cream is so underrated and so nourishing. And for the parts that were especially dry and flaky, I would use the LA ROCHE POSAY CICAPLAST BAUME B5+. If you have dry body skin, I cannot recommend these three enough!
You might not know this about me unless you’ve seen me in person, but I’m a pasty bitch. Which means I do occasionally partake in a fake tan. But I tend to prefer a gradual tan rather than the foam version. And the best one I tried this year was the LUNA BRONZE GLOW TANNING MOISTURISER*. This was so easy to use! I would apply this to my upper arms and legs (the parts of me that don’t see the sun) usually an hour before bedtime. Allow it to soak in. And then repeat until I’m the shade of tan that I want to be! Best of all, because it’s a body mosturiser, it leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and nourished.
For the parts of my body that do see the sun, the FRANK BODY HYDRATING BODY SUNSCREEN *TGA Declaration – purchased myself* was my favourite sunscreen that I tried in 2023. It had Hyaluronic Acid, which I always like in my skincare. But it was also very quick to absorb into my skin. And it left a lovely glow that didn’t look greasy. My sole complaint is that I flew through this bottle. I would happily pay the price for a 500ml.
We’ll wrap this up with some hair goodies. 2022 was the year I started to really care about what I used in my hair. And I’m so happy to see the progress that I’ve made up to this point. Because my hair has been getting longer, I’ve been dealing with frizz and tangles more and more. And for that, I’ve been loving the BRIOGEO FAREWELL FRIZZ ROSARCO MILK LEAVE IN CONDITIONING MIST. A few spritzes of that and my hair is smooth and manageable again!
I also finally figured out how to use the OLAPLEX NO. 4C BOND MAINTENANCE CLARIFYING SHAMPOO. The trick for me is that I leave it in for 2-3 minutes as opposed to 5. But when my hair feels super gunky, this is what I use to clear that up. And I would always follow that up with the BRIOGEO DON’T DESPAIR, REPAIR DEEP CONDITIONING MASK. This pot is magical, I swear. And it always gives so much life and shine to my hair. This is a must try!
And we are done with my 2023 Best In Beauty! WOOHOO! I want to thank you all for following along with my favourites series. Next week? A new product that I haven’t talked about before. Probably.
Cheers and love
Emily xo
