And I am back! I had the most incredible time in Singapore. The food, the culture, the gardens! The entire country is on another level. And I would go again in a heartbeat.
But as much as I want to share all of my holiday pictures, we are here for one reason and one reason only. The shopping! Now, full disclosure, I probably didn’t go as ham on the spending as I usually would. But I did do some damage and I absolutely took the opportunity to pick up some goodies that are tough to get in Australia. Let’s get into the haul!
We’ll start with my second home, Sephora. Which, fun fact, I was able to earn and use my Aussie Sephora points over there (guess who has two thumbs and has hit Gold Status for the third year in a row?). I made an immediate beeline to the sunscreens and grabbed the THE INKEY LIST POLYGLUTAMIC ACID DEWY SUNSCREEN SPF 30 and the SUPERGOOP GLOW SCREEN SUNRISE SPF 40. Neither of these are available in Australia and I’ve wanted to try them for so long! Especially the Supergoop as I’ve heard the Glow Screen is better suited for those with dry skin.
I did a call out for mascaras on my IG before I went away. And a ton of people suggested the SEPHORA BIG BY DEFINITION MASCARA. So, that ended up in my cart. Finally, because my shade was in stock, I grabbed the new FENTY BEAUTY WE’RE EVEN LONGWEAR CONCEALER. I know that I could buy both of these here in Australia. But I was in a treat yourself mood!
One of my favourite store discoveries was Don Don Donki, a Japanese discount store that was all over Singapore. The best way to describe is was Japan’s version of Woolworths. They had groceries, snacks, stuff for the home, and for the purposes of this post, skincare! I truly could have gone berserk here. But I did show restraint and only picked up two things. I had to get the BIORE UV AQUA RICH WATERY GEL SPF 50+ as I’ve seen a ton of my mates talk this up. I also found the HADALABO GOKUJYUN PREMIUM HYALURONIC ACID LOTION which my skin will drink up this winter!
While there was luxury makeup all over the place in Singapore, I did find drugstore makeup to be a little on the sparse side. The fact that I was over there during the Chinese New Year weekend didn’t help my case (lots of closed/limited trading hours). They didn’t really have a Priceline equivalent that I found. But most pharmacies did stock a few ranges. Essence was pretty popular. And I took the opportunity to continue my Essence mascara journey by picking up the ESSENCE LASH PRINCESS FALSE LASH EFFECT WATERPROOF MASCARA.
I also couldn’t resist the DASIQUE SHADOW PALETTE in 15 BEIGE KNIT. This counts as an ‘Instagram Made Me Buy It’ as a few of my friends got sent this palette in PR. And the embossing is just magnificent. I’ll pop up a more detailed picture on my feed later in the week. I also saw Catrice in a few places. Which really excited me as this was a range that I’ve wanted to try for a while. I had to grab the CATRICE HD LIQUID COVERAGE FOUNDATION to test out for y’all.
Another spur of the moment purchase was the BANILA CO CLEAN IT ZERO MANDARIN-C CLEANSING BALM. I have been on the hunt for a new cleansing balm as I’m almost out. And this range is one that I’ve hear a lot of good things about. So far, this one smells incredible. Stay tuned for my thoughts.
Lastly, I had to raid the Mecca at Brisbane Airport (God bless you!). I grabbed three of the new MECCA MAX OFF DUTY LIQUID BLUSHES in (L to R) PEACHY, BERRY, and ROSY. I also snatched up the last MECCA MAX OVER THE TOP HOLOGRAPHIC EYESHADOW TOPPERS that they had on the shelf. These are so shiny and sparkly. Because I hadn’t purchased a fragrance on this trip, I picked up the SOL DE JANERIO CHEIROSA 59 PERFUME MIST. I bought the corresponding body cream when it came out last December and I’m obsessed with the scent. And finally, because I do enjoy a hydrogel mask moment, I grabbed a LOOPS DOUBLE TAKE GLOW HYDROGEL FACE MASK. Stay tuned for my empties for my thoughts on this one.
And that is a wrap on Singapore! As always, if there is anything here that you want a focused review on, just let me know. I hope you all have an amazing week. And I’ll be back on Friday to talk all things beauty! It’s good to be home.
Cheers and love
