Well folks, it finally happened. When I did up my February/March Shop My Stash, I discovered to my horror that I only had one mascara left in my collection. I didn’t even know that was possible for me. In any case, I immediately put the call out to my amazing community for suggestions on what mascaras I should pick up next. And while I received a ton of great suggestions, one name popped up again and again. Loungeface Lash.
Now, Loungeface has been on my radar for a minute. It’s an Aussie owned makeup range owned by OG Aussie Beauty YouTuber, Lauren Curtis. And the reviews I had seen were stellar. So, I picked it up to review for y’all. And I’m so excited to tell you my thoughts.
LOUNGEFACE LASH MASCARA – $37.00 – loungeface.com
Normally, I would start with talking about the packaging. But this comes with a Em’s Note. I’ll be discussing the packaging that I currently have at the time of using. Loungeface is currently going through a revamp of their range. And they’ll be shifting to new packaging soon. In any case, the current version of the Loungeface Lash is housed in a sleek, rubber soft matte feeling tube. The handle is white and the rest of the packaging is a soft, baby pink with white detail. Definitely on the simple side, but it’s cute. I like it. The Loungeface Lash is vegan, cruelty free, and contains 9.17ml of product.
The brush on the Loungeface Lash is one that I’ve seen plenty of times before. Rubberized bristles, straight vertical, and tapering towards the tip. The standout of this though is the fact that this wand isn’t giant! It’s not too long and because it’s on the skinny side, I’m able to reach my inner corners with ease while applying with it. The bristles themselves start out longer at the base and thin out towards to tip. But are otherwise evenly spaced.
The Loungeface Lash is actually a tubing mascara. Which is something I haven’t reviewed for a while. But this formula is not dissimilar to other tubing mascaras that I’ve tried in the past. Good amount of pigment and it dries down well. This formula also spruiks some fun lash benefits. The formula contains Biotin to help strengthen the lashes. And Panthenol to condition lashes.
I’ve been vocal in my affection of tubing mascaras in the past. And there are certain things that I’ve come to expect from them. One of them being that I find that they don’t layer all that well (due to the consistency) and that I struggle to get volume from them. So, I was initially pretty happy with how my lashes looked from just one coat of the Loungeface Lash. Good length and separation. But then for shits and giggles, I went in with the second coat. And then a third coat. Y’all, this layers incredibly! And I got noticeable volume from it. My lashes looked so wispy and flirty. I was shocked at how well it held a curl. I was immediately impressed by it.
Now, when it comes to tubing mascaras, I do review them slightly differently than I would a regular mascara. The idea of them being that the formula envelopes the lash, creating a tube around them. Meaning no smudging and no transfer. The big two critiques I generally have for tubing mascaras is that a) they can flake. and b) they can make the lashes fall and lost their lift. And I have to say, while I do see some crumbs on the top of the lid, this is actually one of the better performing tubing mascaras that I’ve tried over the years. It wears extremely well throughout the day. It holds it’s lift pretty seamlessly. I got no eye irritation from it. Honestly, I have no complaints.
So, do I recommend the Loungeface Lash? Pretty emphatically. It’s certainly up there as far as tubing mascaras go. It layers, it volumises, it separates, it lengthens. And it wears through 35 degree day without budging! Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about it. So, it gets an enthusiastic thumbs up from me. Have you tried the Loungeface Lash Mascara? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love
