Happy Friday, y’all! It’s time to jump in my shower once again and take a look at some of the products that I’m using at the moment. For a little bit of extra fun, I have a little something that I use pre shower, something that I use mid shower, and something I use post shower! Let’s get into it.
BANILA CO CLEAN IT ZERO CLEANSING BALM BRIGHTENING – $32.00
This was one of the last beauty purchases that I made during my Singapore trip. And it ended up being a good get because I was much lower on my current cleansing balm than I thought I was. Now, the Clean It Zero range is fairly popular amongst K-Beauty lovers for being a very thorough cleansing balm. Like it’s supposed to break down every ounce of makeup and grime on your face. All while leaving your skin feeling cleansed and hydrated. And I definitely get that from this.
The balm itself is firm, but melts down quickly once it’s in my hands. A little bit goes a long way with it. I haven’t yet had the chance to test it against a waterproof mascara, but it does break down all of my makeup pretty easily. And it doesn’t leave any residue on my skin after rinsing. My sole complaint is the scent of it. Because the main reason why I picked this one was because it was meant to be mandarin scented (a very underrated scent, if you ask me). It is citrusy, but more in a Macca’s Orange Juice kinda way.
HAIRIFICATION PURE GROW SHAMPOO – $25.00 AND CONDITIONER – $25.00
As much as I love Olaplex, my wallet doesn’t love the $50+ per bottle price tag. So, I have been on the hunt for more affordable hair care options. It was on a scroll through Insta that I spotted this range that I had never seen before. Hairification is an Aussie brand developed by industry experts that’s no muss, no fuss, and no BS. And when I saw them half off at Coles, I picked up the Pure Grow range to give a go.
I am so incredibly impressed with this. My hair is naturally quite thin and prone to breakage. And in the 2 or so months since I started using this, I have noticed a considerable reduction in my hair loss. It feels healthier, it looks healthier. Even my saint of a hairdresser noticed a difference during my last appointment (shout out to the fab ladies at Capricorn Hair Studio). If you spot this range out and about, I definitely recommend picking it up.
VERB GHOST OIL – $33.57
Now, full disclosure, I actually got this a year ago with my 2023 Beautylish Bag. But it’s taken me this long to use because I was always intimidated by hair oils. As I just mentioned, my hair is thin. And I always assumed that any oils would just weigh my hair down. But it was during my November hair appointment when I mentioned the increased frizziness in my hair that my hairdresser suggested using a hair oil once or twice a week to counteract this. And that advice has saved my hair. I use 1-2 pumps of this on my towel dried hair maybe twice a week. Particularly on nights where I haven’t washed my hair. And then comb my hair to make sure it hits everywhere. When I wake up the next morning, my hair is silky smooth, easy to manage, and my frizz has all but vanished. This bottle will last me the better part of forever. But I would love to hear your hair oil recommendations.
And that is a wrap on what’s in my shower! I hope I left enough hot water for you. But as always, leave your thoughts in the comments.
Cheers and love
Emily xo
