Well, didn’t think I’d be doing another one of these so soon. But after I finished my last stash, I actually made so many interesting discoveries that I simply had to do another one of these. So, yeah, it’s Bite Size Reviews time once again. I have five products that I’ve featured in my makeup stash. Let’s talk about them.
ESSENCE SUN CLUB MATT BRONZING POWDER – $4.99USD
Before I go into my thoughts, I have to offer a quick retraction. I said in my initial post that this bronzer was discontinued. I have since found it available in a few random places internationally. In any case, if you do see it in your travels, put it the fuck down. This might be an all timer for bad bronzers. Getting any product onto my bronzer brush almost made me develop RSI. Any product I did manage to get was patchy and orange. It also wouldn’t last on my face at all. The highest insult, however, was that this was the shade for deep skin tones. Are the deep skin tones in the room with us right now? Essence does great blushes. And their highlighters are straight fire. But this is just bad.
TRIXIE COSMETICS BLUSH in TOTAL BETTY – $25.00
On the flip side, if there is one product that I insist that you purchase from this post, it has to be this blush from Trixie Cosmetics. I almost don’t want to spend too much time on it because this will be in my Autumn favourites. It’s the most perfect rosy woody neutral. It lasts all day on the cheeks. It makes my cheeks look flushed and bouncy without looking overly shimmery. It doesn’t emphasize texture. If you’ve been eying off the Dior Blush in Rosewood, this shade is a near dupe and nearly $50 cheaper.
L’OREAL INFALLIBLE MORE THAN CONCEALER – $31.99
When I did my concealer post on Friday, I had a few of you ask me about this one because I had featured it in my last stash. And I have to say, it’s good. But I have a few issues. As far as coverage goes, this is, by far, one of the most pigmented concealers I have come across in the drugstore, it’s so full coverage. And it is basically budge proof. Which brings us to the issue. My problem is that this sets down really quickly. And once it’s set, there is no amount of blending that will get it to sheer out. I had to work one under eye at a time, which I’m not used to doing. This is one that I would save for occasions where I need maximum coverage.
ELF COSMETICS BROW WOW in BRUNETTE – $9.00
I tend not to be too picky with eyebrow gels. Especially the ones with pigment. As long as I can quickly comb it through my brows and it makes them look full and fluffy, I’m usually happy. While I quite enjoyed the formula of this gel. It had a good amount of hold. I didn’t like how warm the shade was. It’s the shade Brunette, but it leans more Auburn on my brows. I would buy this again. But definitely a more taupey shade.
RARE BEAUTY ALL OF THE ABOVE WEIGHTLESS SHADOW STICK in WELL BEING and CONTENTMENT – $43.00
Another highly requested follow up. I actually took these to Sydney back in November. And I used them throughout the holiday season. And while I did enjoy using them, I’m not sure I can recommend them. Especially now that I’m using the Maybelline Color Tattoo Sticks. I most often used these as a base to enhance my powder shadows. And for that, they worked really well. But I found that when I wore them on their own, they did fade on me throughout the day. Contentment (the bronze shade) I found was the worst offender for fading off my lids. And at over $40, they are too expensive to have that poor a wear. Like I said, I’m currently using the Color Tattoo’s, which are half the price. And they wear so much longer.
And that is a wrap on the bite size reviews! Let me know what products you’ve tried recently in the comments.
Cheers and love
