Emmie’s Empties – April 2024

Posted on May 3, 2024May 2, 2024 by emmiesbeautylifeadmin

Well, folks. We aren’t even halfway through the year and I’m already hitting a wall. April truly took forever to get through. The weird thing is, you wouldn’t tell considering how few empties I have here. A lot of these were one that I finished early in the month. But some of these are products that have been hanging out in my collection for a minute. So, let’s get into it!

SATURDAY SKIN SPOTLIGHT BRIGHTENING MASK – $11.00ea.
I grabbed this to pad out an order to get over the minimum shipping. And I quite liked it. It was a thinner hydrogel than what I’m used to. But it was a single piece mask that fit my face well. I would buy this again.

MECCA COSMETICA LIT FROM WITHIN HYDROGEL SHEET MASK – $16.00ea.
These are just nice. Wouldn’t necessarily rush out and buy again. But if I were to score them as a freebie in the future, I wouldn’t be mad.

SKIN CONTROL AM + PM PIMPLE PATCHES – $9.00
Another shitty thing about April was that my skin went through it. And these were definitely needed. I think this is my fifth pack? I love them so much! Having said that, I did buy the Hero ones again. But I’ll definitely pick these up in the future.

BOOST LABS RETINOL NIGHT RENEWAL SYSTEM – $29.95*
A good, no nonsense retinol. Worked with my skin super well. My skin didn’t react negatively to it at all. I was using this three times a week. And I have noticed a huge difference with my skin texture. I would strongly recommend this to retinol beginners.

ULTRA VIOLETTE FAVE FLUID – $52.00
*TGA Declaration – free gift from brand* I can’t say my thoughts on this one. But if I repurchase it, you’ll know.

THE ORDINARY MARINE HYALURONICS – $15.30*
One of the thinnest Hyaluronic Acid serums I have ever used. It was literally like adding water to my skin. I’m currently using the new HA from The Ordinary. But I did really enjoy this

SKINCEUTICALS SILYMARIN CF – $242.00
I almost made it to the end of this before it expired. In any case, there is a reason why this is rated one of the best Vitamin C serums in the world. This in the morning, paired with the retinol at night, are the two things I am crediting for the dramatic improvements in my skin. I would love to try this again one day.

FRANK BODY BRIGHTENING VITAMIN C MASK – $26.00
Yeah, I’m sorry, little buddy. I was using this on a regular basis there. But then it got shuffled around and forgotten in my cupboard. So, this is well and truly expired. A shame too, because this is a favourite of mine. I would buy this again.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY HOLLYWOOD FLAWLESS FILTER – $70.00
A classic, an icon. But my god, the packaging pisses me off!

GLOW RECIPE WATERMELON GLOW ULTRA FINE MIST – $50.00
This is my second bottle and I still love it. Very fine mist that adds a little something something to the skin. Super refreshing, as well!

HUDA BEAUTY ONE COAT WOW! MASCARA – $39.00
I did revisit this before I added it to the empties pile. And I will say that I like it much better now that the formula has had a minute to dry out. It wore much better and I had a lot less smudging under the eyes. Clings to the lashes much better too. I can’t justify paying full price, but definitely grab it on sale.

FRANK BODY ROSEHIP BODY SCRUB + CLEANSER – $28.00
I need this back in my life yesterday. It left my skin feeling so silky smooth. And the sugar was a lovely sweet touch!

OUAI BODY CREME in MELROSE PLACE – $69.00
On the other hand, God, this took me forever to get though. Nice enough body cream. Very thick and luscious. But I wasn’t wild about the scent. Very floral heavy. Which I’m not a fan of.

CLARINS DOUBLE SERUM – $175.00*
I can see why this is one of the best selling serums in the world! I loved using this on retinol nights. For some reason, this pairing really worked for me. I have the Light version that I am currently using. But I would get this again.

DAISO PUFF SPONGE DETERGENT – $3.10
And so ends the great Daiso collection. I finished 12 bottles in almost 2 years. Which isn’t bad when you think about it. I’m now using the Dr Bronner cake soap to clean my brushes and sponges. But if I ever see this again, I’ll be sure to grab a bottle or 20.

Ok, I did use up more stuff than I led on. I was kept busy, what can I say? What did you use up in April? Let me know in the comments.

Cheers and love
Emily xo
