Hi, I’m Emily. And I am a blush fiend. I love blush. I love pink blush, I love peach blush, I even love orangey red blush. But when winter hits, there is one shade in particular that I am drawn to above all others. And that shade is mauvey browns. On me, they just add the perfect kiss of colour to my cheeks. Giving me that frost nipped look without leaving my house. And today, I wanted to highlight three of my favourite blushes that give that effect. Let’s talk about them!
DIOR BACKSTAGE ROSY GLOW in ROSEWOOD – $72.00
We’ll kick this off with the shade that sparked the obsession. Rosewood was part of the Dior blush expansion that they did last year. And this is the shade I heard all of the hype about. Going off the swatches wasn’t promising. The Backstage Rosy Glow’s famously swatch poorly. But when I applied it to my cheeks, it just clicked for me. This is the kind of formula that would be great for beginners to this shade (I apologise in advance for the steep price tag) because it’s difficult to go overboard when applying it. It goes on sheer, but it’s extremely buildable. And the radiance that this adds to the cheeks is such a lovely touch!
TOWER 28 BEACHPLEASE LUMINOUS TINTED BALM in OFFICE HOURS – $32.84
For my cream girlies, I had to shout out the BeachPlease’s from Tower 28. I’ve been extremely vocal about my affection for them. And I will go as far as to say they are my favourite cream blush formula. They have a few shades that fit the brief. But my favourite has to be Office Hours. This looks so natural on the skin. Easily the most skin like blush that I own. And it has an extremely impressive wear time for a cream blush. I can easily get a solid eight hours of wear out of it without it fading or breaking down.
TRIXIE COSMETICS BLUSH in TOTAL BETTY – $25.00
But leave it to a drag queen to make one of the best blush formula’s I’ve ever used! Trixie Cosmetics knocked it out of the park with Total Betty. I almost don’t want to talk about it too much because this will be in my Autumn favourites. It adds the most stunning mauve flush to the skin. And if you want a more affordable option than the aforementioned Rosewood, this is your blush. It is so similar on the cheeks. Best of all, this formula is so freaking pigmented. I cannot recommend this one enough.
And because I love y’all, here are the swatches. They are in the order I talked about them!
What is your favourite blush for winter? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love
Emily xo
