Two Sephora Collection Mascara reviews in one month? I am a busy bee, aren’t I? But when I picked up the Big By Definition Mascara, a ton of y’all flooded my DM’s saying that the Sephora Collection Love The Lift Mascara was the one to try out. So, I’ve spent the last few weeks doing exactly that. And oh boy, do I have thoughts. Let’s get into the review!
SEPHORA COLLECTION LOVE THE LIFT MASCARA – $27.00 – sephora.com.au
Starting with the packaging, the Love The Lift Mascara is housed in a similar style tube to the aforementioned Big By Definition. But this time, the tube is a deep green that fades into a deep purple. The colours are also slightly metallic and the tube doesn’t have the same soft matte feel. There is white detail on the packaging. The Love The Lift Mascara is vegan, cruelty free, and contains 10ml of product.
The wand for the Love The Lift Mascara is a double sided silicone brush. With one side being flat and having short bristles to load product onto the lashes. And the other side being more curved and having slightly longer bristles to help create the lift and curl. It’s actually quite reminiscent of my beloved Make Waves Mascara from Tower 28. And it’s a wand style that I personally enjoy. I’m glad to see more brands adopting this style.
Getting into the formula now. And I was intrigued to see that this was actually quite different to the Big By Definition Mascara. The Love The Lift Mascara is quite wax heavy and definitely on the drier side. It walks right up to the line of maybe being a little clumpy. But I find that any clumps are easy to brush out. Like the Big By Definition Mascara, there aren’t too many noteworthy ingredients. But there are apparently prebiotics and probiotics to help protect the lashes.
First impressions of the Love The Lift Mascara were immediately positive. I used the flat side first to load up the product on the lashes. And then used the curved side to evenly distribute the product. And I was so impressed with how volumised my lashes were with one coat. My lashes looked so thick and fluffy without looking heavy. The brush was also good for separating my lashes and giving good length. The big shock though was how much of a curl and definition I got. I was so impressed.
Which brings us to the wear test. And I’ll be buggered if thus mascara looked as flawless at 5pm as it did when I applied it at 7.30am. I thought surely I would have some droop in the lashes. A formula this wax heavy, I would almost expect it. But this formula is feather light on the lashes. And once it’s on, it doesn’t move. I had no flaking, no smudging, no significant transfer. I cannot fault the wear of this!
All in all, the Sephora Collection Love The Lift Mascara gets two thumbs up from me. And I cannot recommend it more. Especially if you have thin, sparse lashes. I can see this making a world of a difference for you. Have you tried the Sephora Collection Love The Lift Mascara? Let me know in the comments.
Cheers and love
