A swatch party? On a Friday? Perish the thought! But yes, it has been a minute since I last did a swatch fest. And how about that, Huda Beauty has just launched her new Blush Filters that I absolutely had to get my hands on. So, I figured I would show you all the shades and give you my thoughts on them.
But first, what is Blush Filter? They are Huda Beauty’s newest innovation. They are a lightweight liquid blush with a natural, airbrushed finish on the skin. They are also designed to be buildable to get the desired pigment for you. And the peanut shaped doe foot is designed for ease of application. Best of all, it’s super easy to mix the shades with each other to get your own custom shade. There are five shades in this range. Let’s get to swatching!

MY THOUGHTS: Right off the bat, these might be the easiest liquid blushes that I’ve ever used. The issue I have with many liquid blushes is that the doe foot applicators tend to be huge and they pick up more product than you would need. The end result being that the makeup can go from zero to clown in a moment. The fact that the doe foot on this is on the small side and not overly saturated with product means I can dot what I need easily and still have the ability to build the pigment up.
Getting into the blending, I had the easiest time with the two lighter shades (Cotton Candy and Peach Sorbet). Those I could blend out with my finger and go on with my day. The three deeper shades, I found that I did prefer a brush to fully diffuse the product. I would always start with three dots on the upper cheek bone area and then blend. Adding more if needed (I’m wearing six dots in the above pictures). I never noticed then lifting my foundation or moving things around when I was applying them.
Finally, the wear. I did want to very lightly set these with a translucent powder when I was wearing with other makeup. They kept their natural glow throughout the day. And I was genuinely surprised by how good they looked after 8-10 hours of wear. My favourite of the shades is, naturally, Cotton Candy. But I’ve also been enjoying Strawberry Cream. I am intrigued and excited to see if Huda ever expands this range. Because she is onto a winner here. They are $34 on the Huda Beauty website, $37 at Sephora (and at the time of writing, there is a 20% sale on). I say pick them up. Because I can see me mentioning these again at the end of the year!
Have you tried the Huda Beauty Blush Filter’s? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Cheers and love
